Just got my Cafe Cruiser! Bike arrived two days ago - shipping was pretty quick to CT! Carefully unpacked it and assembled. It is heavy and well built. I am switching from a Dillinger 1,000W conversion kit I installed on my high-end dual suspension aluminum Motobecane mountain bike nearly 10 years ago. This bike has at least the same power and more expected range (kit went about 22 miles) but is several pounds heavier despite a lighter Lithium/ion battery (kit was lead/acid). frame geometry is SO different from my old bike, but it is a LOT more comfortable for this 220lb, 53 year-old. Saddle had to be raised very high so that my knees were straighter, but also had to angle handlebars up so my knees didn’t hit them. Makes hands feel like they’re sliding forward a little - still tweaking the angle… If they made this in an X-large frame, I would’ve gotten it. But as I get used to the very different upright riding position, the power assist even on ‘2’ is quite brisk. Tingling hands and a sore butt after more than 2.5 hours of riding will be a thing of the past on this Cadillac of a bike. It will def need 2 people to put it on the tow-hitch bike rack, but now I am the ‘mule’, and will be expected to carry all the supplies leaving my wife’s bike lighter so she’ll have a prayer of keeping up. (Not likely, lol - this thing really moves!) Very happy with purchase and am already dreaming up long rails-to-trails adventures with or without her, lol!

A great bike! I’ve had the opportunity to ride 4-5 different ebikes (ride1up gravel, townie electra, and others I can’t remember), and this one is by far the best. Form and function are top notch. I ordered the optional seat for my 8yr old, and she loves it. This has replaced our convertible this summer.
One request: Can the controller be programmed to turn on the brake light when the brakes are applied? I know that the brake input and light controller are both on it. Should be a simple code change.
Canadian Warning: Fedex charged me an addtional 73 CAD. Please be prepared to pay just a bit more than the list price.
Construction advice: My rear derailleur was bent, and I ended up taking it to a show for alignment – another 25 dollars. Not a large concern.

I bought two of these about a month ago . I’m 60 6ft3in 260 lbs arthritic wich a bad back . Somewhat easily assembled . These work like a dream first day I went to the Newport folk festival and saw Joni Mitchell. 10 miles each way with some hills 20 miles total. Only used 1 bar of battery charge. I love these bikes ! Hills no problem, my knees didn’t hurt . The lights are bright. I added mirrors and a bell . For safety. Make sure you tighten the pedals properly as I didn’t on one bike and stripped it out easily fixed. Just be careful and make sure it’s done right. Sturdy and comfortable! This bike is a beast!

    This is an awesome bike.

We are on three different E bikes from three different makers.

Deposit of this bike are…. Super comfortable ride, great placement of the handlebars that keeps you upright, absolutely flies on the flat ground or slightly uphill and looks awesome.

The only negative for me is I’m 6 foot three 230 pounds and it does lack the power on mid to steeper hills. I would say this bike is completely a five-star purchase if you’re rarely tackling mid to larger Hills or you weigh under 180 pounds. My wife is still able to tackle midsize hills very comfortable yet a speed of about 10 to 12 miles an hour on pedal assist five. You won’t be making up up any size hills on just the throttle alone.

Of the three different bikes we owned this is by far our favorite and my wife has claimed it from me.

Short and the point this bike is on point. When I received it wasn’t the bike I ordered I ordered a xr but after my wife and I looked at it in the box we decided it was a better fit for me. I’m 65 and the st is perfect. I changed the bars out for some bmx style. Put 30 miles first day. Thank You ride 1 up for the sweet bike.

Great bike, very sturdy and rides Phantastic.
    Shifters and breakers are excellent.
Controller has all what you need.
I like that I could modify the PAS steps to 7, and adjust the power output of each step to my liking.
Our first bike tour was 65 miles mainly on PAS 1 (with original setting), and the battery was still at around 40%!
The saddle is not the greatest, but you can change it to whatever you prefer.
We got two bikes. Shipping took a lot longer for the second bike. So you may need to be a bit patient.
Probably one of the best bikes for this price!
