I received the Cafe Cruiser yesterday by Fed Express and was impressed on how good it was packaged, it took about 45 minutes to assemble. My first ride was 4 miles and I was super impressed Leon W Blomeley

Received my Cafe Cruiser on Thursday, after ordering the previous weekend. Good feedback during the process. This is my first e-bike so this review may be partly an overall e-bike review and partly a cafe cruiser specific review. Assembly was pretty easy, took me around an hour or so in total. I took my first ride to work on Friday (about 10 miles each way) and the trip was flawless. This being my first e-bike I was a bit apprehensive but I would say the whole experience was really easy. The engaging and disengaging of the motor was smooth and after a very short time the whole riding experience was very intuitive. Returned home with around 50% or so battery remaining.
On Saturday I took a ride that ended up being about 38 miles roundtrip. I didn’t make it as far as I originally intended due to a bit of range anxiety. Not sure if I could have made the full trip but I didn’t want to risk it as the bike is heavy and pedaling for a distance unassisted would be tough. I returned home with around 2 bars of battery remaining.
My impressions so far:
– Ordering and shipping process was smooth (would be good to make it clear if a signature is required or not). The only flaw thus far is one of the hand grips came with a split in the faux leather, for which I have already filed a claim with Ride1Up.
– Assembly process was pretty easy (a bit more challenging with a one person crew). I will take it to a bike shop just to ensure the derailleur and brakes are properly adjusted (especially the front brake which has a bit of rubbing) as I don’t have enough confidence in my own ability to DIY.
– If you are used to riding a rather lightweight standard bicycle, note that an e-bike is quite heavy by comparison.
– I have been able to get approximately 40 miles out of the battery in my short experience thus far, I will continue to push it to see how far I can extend the range. My riding style looks like it will be to keep the gear at the highest level and use a ride assist setting of 2 or 3 in most cases (unless I encounter a significant slope). From a standing start at a traffic light a quick one second jab on the throttle is enough to get things moving at the high gear before the sensor kicks the motor in. I am not much of a gear changer on a normal bike either, preferring to power through the inclines if possible.
– The battery does take quite a while to charge. From the two bar level it took several hours of charging to get from red to green on the charger.
– Seat is pretty comfortable, need some more time in the saddle to give it a proper assessment.
Overall I am super happy with the purchase so far, and I would highly recommend Ride1Up to anyone looking to buy an e-bike.

Recently received my cafe cruiser. Was easy to put together since already mostly assembled. I did take it to local bike shop, REI to check brakes and derailleur. There are a lot of hills in my neighborhood and pedal assist really helps. Waiting on passenger seat package to arrive. Btw does anyone know of frame lock that fits.

Think Lexus sport utility. This bike is amazing. It’s refined. Refined shifting and smooth rolling tires are great. The seating position and seat are fabulous and adjust easily. The bike feels lighter than my old ebike of the same weight.
The bike is fast. It easily holds 25 plus and has high enough gears that you can keep up pedaling even at 30 mph. I ride much faster on this than my last bike despite them both having same speed. The battery 40% larger than my other bike lasts double because the tires roll so well. The thumb throttle I was scared I would not like as a motorcycle guy is fine and the quality shift mechanism is great a fair trade. Also note the cadence sensor is so good it takes less than 1/2 turn for the bike to come on so you use throttle less.
I like to pedal with my bike and this bike is great. The shift mechanism and pedal position are perfect. The high Dutch style bars are great too. The big rack looks like it could handle anything you can put on it. Like maybe even a vice:)
This is my second ebike. The first was lectric xp that I put 2700 miles on in the year since I bought it. I could have had any bike I had no budget but couldn’t justify 5-8k some of the premium bikes demand.
I don’t love the display and the need to adjust the shift mechanism. We got no instructions and there was a “tangle” in the wires we had to remove the fork to remedy. Took 40 minutes to assemble for me and my 14 year old daughter.
Looking forward to a good riding day to really push her limits and see how far and fast she can ride.

So glad to hear you are loving the new Cafe Cruiser. There is a QR code on the box that takes you to our assembly support guides. Typically any tangle in the handlebars can be avoided by adjusting the position before attaching them to the stem of the bike. We are glad you were able to resolve that and wish you many happy miles!

We just received our Cafe Cruisers and we love them! They arrived on time and packaged wonderfully. The 45 minute assembly was straight forward. Our first few rides have been fantastic and these bikes garner a lot of interest because of their very cool design.
We did our research and for the price we know we made a great choice compared to like models.
Love the comfy seat and the auto assist feature which keeps your thumb off of the throttle.
Great rides!
