the CF Racer1 road is awesome. it looks and feels like a normal road bike and you don’t notice the weight of the motor and battery until you lift and carry it into the house or in and out of the car. even riding with pas set to zero is fine on mostly flat roads

Just an amazing experience from day one. Shipping was impeccable and the bike showed up flawless. Since the first ride I've had nothing but positive experiences with this bike. It's decent components paired with the carbon frame deliver an incredibly smoothe ride on my local streets. I had to swap seats on my older Gravelster but the seat on the cf racer is perfect for me. I'm not having any issues putting my time in on the bike. Honestly, I can't think of anything I don't like about the bike. Oh, I DID swap out the pedals for some carbon fiber ones I found on Amazon. Other than that, I'm all stock and really having the time of my life on this thing. You DO have to pedal this bike. Not throttle and the tiny motor isn't built for that. Once rolling and utilizing the gears, the motor is quite impressive on this bike allowing me to hit speeds near 30 mph and to maintain a 20+ mph contant speed for miles on end on the streets... I'm getting roughly 30 miles out of a charge and that's heavily relying on PAS 3 and 4. Thanks to everyone that had a hand in building this bike. You did a marvelous job. 😃

Very capable e-gravel explorer that is extremely affordable and decked out with quality components. Carbon is a bit delicate for true Offroad gravel and will show some abrasions from rocks and sticks as you grind out a single track. Gearing is great for moderately steep dirt and rock climbs IF the soil is harder packed. You don't even need the pedal assist to climb unless it is a long but and get steeper. Doesn't do well in soft stuff and due to geometry, you're way over the handlebars descending so you need to be controlled and calculated. Definitely no downhill bombing in the Offroad. Downhill, I've pressed 32.5mph (no pedal assist) and it starts to feel a bit unstable. On flats, you can get up to speed quickly with no E assist, with it in 5, you can easily hit 27 mph. I'm 5'8" with shorter legs and went with size S. Though standover is perfect the length of the body (say handlebar stem to seat) feels short and with proper seat height for optimal pedal power, you're in a rather aggressive position even with hands on top of the bars. Again I think this goes back to geometry. Comparing this to a canyon grzl or specialized diverge carbon gravel bikes which are not e-bikes, they are close in weight and capability but are more relaxed in geometry and stature. There is definitely some motor drag that you feel with pedal assist off. I try to do as much in that mode as I can before I switch on but that resistance does slow you up and wears the legs after a bit. Wish it felt more free wheeling and disconnected the motor clutch or whatever the terms are. Pedal assist 1 seems to be closer to neutral/less resistance. I use level 2 or 5 most often. 5 gets you there, now. Sometimes you pedal lightly in 5 and laugh about how you're still sweating and panting but you're hauling. Battery life is great. Never burned more than barely into 3 bars and the longest ride I've taken over the last two weeks was just shy of 18 miles. Mixed paved bike trails, Offroad dirt and rock, singletracks, and some paved roads as well. I already have a slow leaks in the rear tire so I pump it up before each outing, but will be converting to tubeless soon. Was well packed and easy to assemble. Was missing a handlebar cap but R1UP listened and made it right. All the reviews are right. This is a super fun bike and a great value.

Generally very pleased with the gravel version. Have ridden it 85+ miles on a single charge around Lake Tahoe, using a mix of no assist and pedal assist 1-3. Have also tried it on a few mountain passes. It's beautiful and a fantastic value, handles well, etc. The bike is stiff and light, and the components are overall decent. There are minor annoyances and improvements that could be had: removing the rear wheel to set up tubeless is a giant pain. The motor cable is really short, and if you unplug it to get slack, getting it back through the frame takes some ingenuity. A 1 foot service loop would really add value and help people avoid issues when repairing flats on the side of a highway. Thankfully, this problem can be fixed by buying a $20 extension cable online. Setting up tubeless took some work, but was doable under about two hours, of which the rear wheel was over an hour and a half. With a service loop, it likely would have been 30 minutes to tape both rims and add sealant to the already tubeless ready tires. Note this is kind of a must do for any unpaved riding. The bike pedals really well even without the motor on. So well that I have debated getting a second wheel set for some very long "analog only" rides, as one can unplug the rear motor cable and remove the rear wheel. Here's the problem: while the front fork uses a modern standard thruaxle, the rear dropout spacing is a somewhat unusual 145mm x QR, making upgrading the rear wheels or using any different rear wheel somewhat difficult. What a dream to have a bike that could do double duty - sadly it will likely remain a dream. The stock rims also leave some things to be desired. Schrader valves are a strange choice, and the gravel rims are narrow by modern standards, but still serviceable for the stock tires. The Continental 40c stock tires are generally pretty good on both road and hard pack, and can handle some singletrack with slow speed and due care. However, the fire roads and high clearance 4wd paths in the Sierra are very loose and sandy, as is a lot of the single track here. Going to try to upgrade tire size to 700x50c, and unclear how well the rims will do with a wider tire- in theory they should still handle OK and others have demonstrated that the fit will work. Upgrading the front wheel will be straightforward, but not the rear rim. It would be a great way to improve performance and shave weight, but alas that is easier said than done. The Bafang rear hub is 36H, and finding a light weight rim that is also 36H is difficult and really narrows any options for an upgrade, even if you are willing to build your own rear wheel... However, it's a pretty good bike as is, and most people will never be interested in this amount of work for a minor performance upgrade. Only one other incident of note: had the battery potentially overheat once after leaving the black bike in the sun for a gym session in 85-90F weather, and resulted in minimal power to the motor with no assist regardless of PAS level. After 10 minutes of pedaling and airflow, motor function seemed restored to normal. As my first e-bike, I don't know how normal this is. Again, thankfully it pedals without power.

On May 24 I ordered the Ride1Up CF Racer1, road style, 56", Cloud Gray ebike. It arrived the morning of June 3 just as the shipper promised. It was packaged well. It took me longer to unpack it than to put it together. Assembly went flawless and I got an eight mile ride in that day. I have now had it three weeks and have 200 miles on it. I'm head over heels in love with it. I only use PAS when I'm in hilly terrain, or against a stiff headwind. That way the battery lasts a looong time. When not using the battery it's a pleasure to ride. I'm very happy with it. Oh by the way, I'm 80 YO so I feel entitled to some help on hills.

I bought this bike after seeing a review on utube from Electric Bike Reports. I am 70 years old and have been riding since the late 90's. Over the last 4 years I have not had the chance to ride as much. I bought this bike to literally get me back in the saddle. I have rejoined my bike club and plan to start leading trips again. My last ride was 31 miles and I enjoyed it! I used the pedal assist as needed. Please see photos. I've included the ridewithgps data from my ride. This bike is doing exactly what I expected. I want to get back in shape and still enjoy the ride. The pedal assist along with proper shifting gives me the feeling that I am back on my road bike. I was so pleased getting up a steep hill in pedal assist 5 without seeing light at the end of a tunnel! As my fitness level increases I don't feel I will need pedal assist 2 as much. I used it 70% of the time. I bought the gravel addition because I have a road bike and wanted to travel on the many gravel roads available in New England.

You guys really hit it out of the park with the CF Racer1 Road Bike!!
I’ve been riding and racing all my life on top tier Super Record equipped Pinarellos (last one purchased in 2009 so it is a bit “old school” now). At 67, it’s just too painful to keep up with the A-Group anymore.
I had high hopes when I received the Racer1, but if it turned out to be anything less than perfect, I would have gone back to the Pinarello in a heartbeat.
After several hundred miles, I can say the Racer1 is absolutely Awesome, and it keeps my heart rate in the normal zone during those 40 miler’s with the young guys.
I ride on the drops alot, so I did make one simple modification. Basically, I rotated the e-buttons up under the inner sides of the brake hoods. I discarded the elastic bands and used some mounting tape to stick the buttons to the metal brake body under the hoods. I clipped off the rubber fastening nub on the inside of each hood, and padded around the buttons with just enough rolled up mounting tape to keep pressure off the buttons until pressed.
Now they are hidden and work perfectly retaining the intended clicking sound when pressed. They also form a nice sculpted shape to the inner sides of the hoods follow the hands perfectly.
So I couldn’t be happier with this Bike. It is quiet and fast, and it looks and handles beautifully. The Bafang and SRAM Rival components are a real joy.
In my opinion, the CF Racer1 is the absolute best value on the market. Thank you Ride1Up!
Riding it is like floating on a cloud. Easy to assemble.
On a 30 mile ride, PAVED, flat, it barely uses the battery.
I also took it on two 30 mile rides, GRAVEL, flat, in the rain. This is not the gravel model. It performed admirably, and also barely used any of the battery. But I will not subject it to that abuse again. It is too nice a bike to do that.
How does the bike* fit? Please share your height/size and the frame type you ordered, if applicable. Large Frame. I am 6ft 1 in. I have never owned a racing bike, so it took a little time to get used to it.
Generally good, would like to be able to adjust cockpit.
