Happy with the step through for safety on my gravel driveway

Nathan H.
I got two of these, a blue step through for my finance and a black medium for myself . i’m very happy with this bike. I wanted something that didn’t look like an ebike/motorcycle. looks good, has good range, is quiet.

I must admit I was a little skeptical about buying online and sight unseen, but I couldn't have been more wrong. The process was painless, the product was flawless, delivery was as promised and ride is great. The bike has exceed all my expectations and given me fresh start on a loved sport.

Great Bike. I’ve had it for a couple of weeks now and it’s better than I expected. I routinely ride 32 miles and battery has 50% life left. Bike is smooth, quiet and comfortable. I highly recommend it.

This was my first e-bike and since my first ride I can’t stop riding it. My face lite up like a kid who first learned to ride a bike. It makes me feel like I can compete in the Tour de France. The torque sensor feels so natural. The quality of the bike seems very good, especially in this price range. The battery and range have been pretty much as advertised. I opted for the single speed which is prefect unless you live somewhere with a lot of very steep hills. My only complaints are the top of the battery does not sit flush against the frame, which can allow for water/moister to enter an area where there shouldn’t be any. I have yet to contact Ride1up concerning this matter, as it has not affected performance only aesthetics. Additionally, my second complaint is that upon watching the review videos that are available on Ride1up website, I was expecting different tires. Mine came with Perelli’s. They are good tires so far, but it’s misleading and perhaps false advertising. So just know that they’ve recently changed some of their bikes components. I’m 6 foot tall and the large frame is good for me, but anyone under I’d get the medium size. Overall, I’d highly recommend this bike. Ride1up just need to address this battery issue.

Spoiler Alert: I love this bike! I’m 77 years old, a shade over 6’, and weigh 185. I cycle for recreation and exercise mainly in a rural area where the hills are moderate to challenging. I belong to a local bike club. We do several organized rides each year and I have a number of weekly rides I can participate in. I love to ride with our club groups. 15 years ago I had no problem keeping up with our “C” group which averages about 15 mph over the course of a 20-30 mile ride. However, at my current age I'm now riding 12 mph on a road bike. My purpose in getting the Roadster v3 was to be able to participate in these rides. I spent hours watching reviews online and thought that a lot of the enthusiasm for the Roadster v3 (and ebikes in general) had to be promotion and hype. I did visit one local bike shop and road a similar bike of a different brand. I didn’t particularly like that bike, but I thought if what I was reading and seeing about the Roadster v3 was 80% accurate, I could probably make it work. After several weeks of online research, I finally pulled the trigger. When the bike arrived, I had a friend who’s a great bike mechanic help me put it together (I’m not very mechanical). I was riding it in 30-45 minutes. I couldn’t believe how good it felt. I’ve done several rides now, each time tweaking the bike a little after the ride. I’ve added a phone holder, Garmin radar, a small mirror, bottle cage, seat bag, etc. Oh, and I did change the saddle for a Brooks B-17 Cambian saddle that I had on hand. (Nothing wrong with the saddle that came on the bike, but I know the B-17 is a good fit for me.) All that background to say this--Wow! I’m loving the Roadster. It’s very stable on the road, yet quick handling when needed and comfortable on irregular surfaces. The bike looks good and seems to be very well make. The components are name brand and high quality, and the bike is quiet. My longest ride so far is 30 miles on a club ride in eco mode (lowest level of pedal assistance). I averaged 25 mph and had 76% of my battery remaining (37.8 volts). I’m no bicycle expert, but I’ve put in several thousand cycling miles. I have two road bikes. One is a carbon Specialized Roubaix and the other a steel frame Rivendell. Both have Shimano 105 components. So when I say that I love riding this Ride1Up bike, I say it having owned some decent quality bikes for several years. In some ways I wish I had purchased the CF Racer1, but that’s another story. Regarding exercise, I have no way to compare how much I’m getting when I ride the ebike as compared to my road bikes. My best guess is that I’m working about 75 as hard on the ebike while riding in eco mode. The great payoff for me is that I can now keep up and go the distance on our club rides. I really, really like this bike!

I thought this bike was underpriced when I purchased it in September 2024 and it is still one of the best deals around if you want a light bike, with plenty of power. The range is understated, my longest ride so far of 30miles barely put a dent in the battery. The bike was very easy to assemble and it is holding up very well with no rattles or any performance issues a little over 6 months in. The ride is a little stiff due to lack of shocks by design but it remains very comfortable. Riders don't notice that it is an ebike so you get less dirty looks. We own 4 ebikes, the Roadster V3 is by far and easily everyone's favorite.

I’m very happy with my new Ride1Up Roadster V3. I just got back from a bike ride and without any strain or effort I was gliding along 15~18 miles an hour. It’s a very good value with full fenders which come in very handy in rain and puddles, lights both front and back hooked up to the electrics, a bell to let people know that you’re passing them, which is very helpful because the bike is so quiet they don’t hear you coming. Besides all that it’s just a beautiful bike. Also Ride1Up lowered their price by $100 and gave me a rebate after the fact which was very nice. They also reimbursed me for a new front disc brake which was warped in shipment. So I have to say I’m very pleased with the bike and would recommend it to all my friends.
Roadster V3 arrived in excellent packaging. Assembly was less than 1 hour. Product quality/fit & finish is excellent better than i would have expected for the price. The maviche hub motor is very quiet and the torque sensor works very well. The electronic readout is very intuitive and easy to read and use, even in bright sunlight. Battery is easy to remove and charge, my first two rides totaled 25 miles, and the battery was still at half charge but i ride quite a bit in Eco mode.
The only minor issue was the front wheel required truing as did the front disc, but overall, i would highly recommend the V3 if you’re looking for a solid handing road and gravel bike.
How does the bike* fit? Please share your height/size and the frame type you ordered, if applicable. I ordered a large frame, as i am 6'-0"tall with a 32" inseam and i have the seat post as low as it can go. Anyone under 6' i would recommend a medium frame.
I mostly like the bike, though the front brakes rub. Spent hours trying to fix them on phone with support and viewing every YouTube video I could find, with no luck. Good to know though that in time the pads will wear down, and I should have a quiet bike, so the future looks bright.
6’4” Large. I wish the handle bars could be raised higher, but it’s tolerable.
Happy with the step through for safety on my gravel driveway

Overall very impressed with component selection, build quality, levels of assist, and ride. Battery seems to be holding up well, but we’ve only had it a few weeks and my wife has only ridden it three times.
Rotor didn’t quite seat straight in between calipers, but my local mechanic was able to fix it by re-mounting and adjusting the hydraulic brakes. So Ride1Up might want to look into their list of QA checks before shipping them out.
One thing that was a little surprising though was how the battery housing does not seat flush into the frame near the key hole. It does seat flush at the bottom of the battery, just not at the top. Ride1Up tells me they are looking into getting this fixed.
How does the bike* fit? Please share your height/size and the frame type you ordered, if applicable. It fits well for my wife's 5'6" height, but in retrospect, I think she would have been happier with the step-through frame, instead of the traditional triangle we bought.
