FAQ'S

minus plus
When will the TrailRush ship out? minus plus

In-stock TrailRush electric bikes require extra processing time and will ship out within 1 business days of placing your order. The TrailRush is shipped via FedEx to preserve quality and reduce shipping related issues.

After your order has processed and left our warehouse, please expect approximately 5-10 business days for additional transit time and delivery. Delivery appointment is required and delivery times are dependent on availability by local distribution centers.

Are the bikes water-proof? minus plus

The bikes are not water-proof, they are water-resistant with a rating of IPX4. While we do not recommend leaving the bikes out in the rain or riding in the rain or other hazardous conditions due to personal safety, the bikes can handle low pressure exposure to water. Do not submerge in water or expose to pressurized air or water. Storing your ebike in the elements could shorten the lifespan of the electric bike.

Can I test ride a bike? minus plus

We are a direct-to-consumer eBikes company both in pricing and strategy. Riders will generally pay a premium for the ability to test-ride eBikes through a dealer. However, our bikes have been thoroughly tested by top reviewers such as Electric Bike Review, Electric Bike Report, Cycling Weekly, Clean Technica, Electrek, and many others who have published their reviews on YouTube.

Can I upgrade the battery? minus plus

Unfortunately, this electric bike frame’s 14ah battery pack is the largest available. If you would like extra range, you can purchase a second battery pack here.

Can I switch the handlebars to another model? minus plus

No. The variations you see on the site are the only options we have for our ebikes.

Can you ship to _______? minus plus

We only ship within the US and Canada. The contiguous United States is FREE. Shipping to Canada is $400. Currently, not shipping to Hawaii. We are not responsible for any additional tariffs charged by your local government which is often applied after importing. Unfortunately, we are not able to ship our eBikes directly to Europe or Alaska at this time. You can use a shipping forwarder like ShopUsa.com to reach your country.

What Does Mid-Drive Mean on an E-Bike? minus plus

A mid-drive electric bike means that the motor of the electric bike is mounted in the center of the frame near the bottom bracket, providing power to the crank. This is in contrast to hub motor designs, where the electric motor is in the front or back wheel.

The mid-drive system provides more efficient power transfer, allowing the rider to use the gears of the electric bike for a more natural riding experience and electric motor performance. The position of the motor also allows for a more stable ride as the weight is distributed closer to the center of gravity, as well as more responsive handling with greater torque and hill-climbing ability.

How Fast Can a Mid-Drive E-Bike Go? minus plus

The speed of a mid-drive electric bike is dependent on several factors, such as the power output of the motor and battery capacity. Generally speaking, Class 1 and Class 2 eBikes stop assisting the rider at twenty MPH, while Class 3 eBikes, like the TrailRush, will provide assistance up to twenty-eight MPH. This eBike system has incredible performance for all riders.

Are Mid-Drive Electric Bikes More Efficient? minus plus

Yes, mid-drive eBikes are more efficient than hub motor designs. This is mainly because the electric motor is able to use the bike’s gears and the power is transferred directly to the crank instead of the wheels. This means that you can get more out of each full charge with this electric bike. Keep in mind that although mid-drive motors use the bike’s gears, this doesn’t mean you can’t ride your e-bike if the battery runs out. You just won’t have the extra power that the electric motor provides. EBikes can still be ridden without the electric motor just like you would ride a traditional bike.

How Long Do Mid-Drive E-Bike Motors Last? minus plus

The lifespan and performance of a mid-drive electric bike motor depend on the components’ quality and how it is used. Generally, you can expect your electric bike motor to last anywhere between three and ten years; just make sure to keep up with regular maintenance and follow the manufacturer’s guidelines.
This includes keeping your electric motor dry, as mid-drive motors tend to rust faster than their hub drive counterparts. Protecting and taking care of your eBikes will improve their lifespan and maintain their performance.

Is a Mid-Drive E-Bike Better? minus plus

It depends on what kind of riding experience you are looking for. For some, a mid-drive electric bike is often considered to be the better option because they offer more efficient power transfer, better hill climbing performance, and more responsive handling by having a more natural riding feel as you pedal.
Additionally, they tend to be lighter than hub motor designs, making them a better choice for longer rides. These eBikes are also more reliable, making them a great option for regular use.
However, they tend to be the most expensive e-bike motor design, so if you’re on a budget, a hub electric motor may be a better option. Ultimately, this depends on your individual needs and preferences.

Do Any Mid-Drive E-Bikes Have a Throttle? minus plus

Yes–some mid-drive eBikes do have a throttle. However, most big electric bike companies tend to rely solely on pedal-assist for their mid-drive eBikes, because when you install a throttle on a mid-drive electric bike, the chain wear and tension might be too great. This could lead to a broken chain and render the bike inoperable, hindering the overall performance.

The bike is great Getting the bike was the worst . First the bike came damaged. The front rim was bent. Customer service told me to take it to a shop to get repaired because it wasn't true. The shop could not guarantee it would be true. Call back customer service. They sent me a third party rim That was not the same as the original it was smaller. The tube would not fit. Customer service told me that they don't send oem rims it would take months to get. Had to complain that I'm going to return the bike back to the San Diego shop. Customer service then said we can give you a Rim off a demo bike. So I drove two and a half hours there to get a used rim off a demo bike and have them install it . Then three hours home because of traffic . They should of gave me a discount off my bike or some merch for the inconvenience and gas wasted to go to san diego

Fantastic bike. Class III hardtail for 2K? Amazing! Well equipped, too. I especially appreciate the great motor - nearly silent with a natural feeling power curve. I also like the dropper post and tubeless ready tires. I'm a 71 y.o. road bike rider who now finds himself making time to ride this bike instead. I haven't ridden my road bike in month!

Great bike, very impressed. Was quickly ready to go out of the box. Gears, brakes, shocks, dropper all tuned and haven't needed adjusting after about 100km of single-track in the Rockies of BC Canada. I cut the bars down an inch each side, more agile now, and changed the seat. Feels very smooth, 4 motor levels are just right, feels lighter than it is. Should get years of trail use.

This is my 40th year of riding analog mountain bikes, everything from early clunkers to a 10K+ full suspension cross country you could pick up with one hand. This is my first e-bike and my top criteria was sub 4K price. I wanted help on long climbs and to keep up on group rides but I'm still in decent shape for my age. So I wasn't sure if an e-bike was for me and didn't want to drop 4K+ on one until I knew for sure. My second top criteria is it must be a true mountain bike with a well rated mid-drive and no junk components. My choices narrowed down to the Aventon Ramblas and the Trailrush. I am totally pleased with my decision to go with the Trailrush. Holy-moley, what an outstanding bike for its price point! Some observations: - Excellent, well thought out packaging. Not one bit of shipping damage and it was ready to ride in 40 minutes, taking my time. - The Galaxy Gray color rocks! It has subtle rainbow metallic flake that catches the sun. It's like a party on the trail. - No junk components that wont stay in tune. Every item is trail worthy, serviceable and upgradable. It's all performing well on the punishing red rocks of Southern Utah. Higher tier components wouldn't make sense, several hundred or thousands more would shave off some ounces but frankly wouldn't be felt on a bike pushing 60 lbs. Kudos to the design team for a well spec'd bike at this price. - I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Brose motor! It's the star of the show. I appreciate how I can still get my workout using Eco mode but it makes this bike feel lively like its half to a third its weight when using Tour or Sport mode. I rarely need Boost mode except for the steepest, technical climbs. It's also literally silent in the lower modes and just a soft hum in Boost mode. What I changed: - I replaced the Exaform dropper post for a PNW Coast air suspension dropper post. Coming back to a hardtail at my age was a literal PITA, and this made the transition MUCH better. - I converted the tires to tubeless. And that's all I needed to do. The Trailrush is doing everything I'm asking of it. I'm not ditching my analog bike, but I actually look forward rides on my Trailrush. I can ride further, explore more and always finished with a smile on my face.

Assembly was super smooth. I haven’t really had a chance to write it yet due to weather.

I have had the bike for about four months now, and have had no problems. I like that it is so quiet, the pedal assist is very smooth, it has lots of power in boost mode, lots of range in tour mode, and handles rough trails well. The ride is more comfortable after I added a suspension seat post.

I bought the TrailRush to ride on the many trails nears me that, at 70 years old, I don’t have the horsepower to negotiate with an acoustic bike. I was attracted by the reviews of the motor and its quietness and power delivery. Along with the tubeless compatible wheels/tires and dropper post made it a must buy for me. I am not disappointed. As much as I liked riding my Priority Apollo, and still do, this TrailRush has expanded my available riding and enables me to get to places that were unavailable to me before.
The big wheels and tires (usually run at about 21 psi) along with the better than expected RockShox fork make the a very good riding bike in rough terrain, which is welcome. The dropper seat post is a big plus for steep downhills and adds safety. Tubeless is a must for me as thorns are everywhere here and it puts an end to those small puncture flats. The brakes are terrific and along with the traction of those big tires lends a lot to one’s confidence.
The seat is actually comfortable for me and feel no need to replace it.
I didn’t care for the bars so much and replaced them with Ritchey Coyotes. I also added an Ortlieb Quick Rack and single panniers to carry a few things.
For the $2100 I paid for this bike I’m very pleased indeed. Kudos to Ride1Up!

    Sizing/Fit Notes:

At 5' 9", 30" inseam the medium is slightly large for me but it's OK
