Belt drive is like a clockwork breaking after some 2800 and 3300 mi. Fortunately, I had a spare.
Still, it lasts twice as long as a chain with little maintenance and no oily pants.
A Carbon belt drive may last longer, but the price to pay would be 15% faster paddling with 62/22 for the gravel bike rather than 64/20. Maybe, ride1up thinks about a 70/22 Carbon option ?
My Roadster v2 has been great — the belt, not so much. Much like a few other reviewers, mine also snapped after less than 150 miles.
We our sorry to see this. With proper belt tension (https://ride1up.com/support), the replacement will last much longer. Our support team will follow up with you to get this replaced.
My belt also broke in less than 150 miles (I have already sent a message to your customer support team), but before that, the bike has been great.
This is most commonly caused by excess belt tension. Our team will follow up with you to ensure you next belt gets thousands of miles.
