Can you change the classes on the Portola?
Yes you can! The Portola folding ebike arrives in Class 2 out-of-the-box. You can easily change between a Class 1, 2, or 3 ebike through the handlebar display. This offers various benefits where you may need to limit your speed and capabilities depending on the where you are riding.
Can I test ride a bike?
We are a direct-to-consumer company both in pricing and strategy. You will generally pay a premium for the ability to test ride through a dealer. However, our bikes have been thoroughly tested by top reviewers such as Electric Bike Review, Electric Bike Report, Cycling Weekly, Clean Technica, Electrek and many others who have published their reviews on YouTube. Can I upgrade the battery?
Unfortunately the 14ah battery pack is the largest available that will fit this frame.
Can I switch the handlebars to another model?
No. The variations you see on the site are the only options we have.
Can you ship to _______?
We only ship within the US and Canada. The contiguous United States is FREE. Hawaii and Alaska is $600. Shipping to Canada is $100. We are not responsible for any additional tariffs charged by your local government which often times applied after importing. Unfortunately, we are not able to ship our bikes directly to Europe. You can use a shipping forwarder like ShopUsa.com to reach your country.
Are the bikes water-proof?
The bikes are not water-proof, they are water-resistant. While we do not recommend leaving the bikes out in the rain or riding in the rain or other hazardous conditions due to personal safety, the bikes can handle low pressure exposure to water. Do not submerge in water or expose to pressurized air or water. Storing your ebike in the elements could shorten the lifespan of the electric bike.
The bike is a joy to ride which cannot be said about customer support. I’ve owned the bike for a couple of months now and find it meets all my expectations in regard to size, quality and performance. However, there was a minor issue with what was to be included in the purchase. I called the company and they told me to submit a ticket and someone would respond. I did and the didn’t. The problem was not so critical that I felt I should hound them so I’ve just let it go. As a result, I’ve no confidence that customer support will be there should I need it. Luckily, there are a lot of videos and other information that can help if there are issues. And perhaps that’s the intent so that their staff is not tied up in personal support.

A perfect bike for a beginner biker!
I purchased the Portola last fall and I couldn’t be happier. It has the best features for the price and with adding the cooler and touring package it is perfect for me. Very comfortable to ride long distances and the larger battery gives you that confidence to keep riding further. Love it!
I’m 5’5” and 160 pounds. The step through frame is perfect for my age and size.
Nearly have 100 miles on it already and it’s wonderful. Really glad I spent the extra money for the bigger battery. Only downside is that the seat is really uncomfortable, but that is easily solved; also had a mild problem with the folding, it’s definitely something you gotta work out. It just kinda seems like the strap is too short sometimes, but I got the hang of it.
