I love this bike so much! It was delivered quickly and easy to assemble the remaining parts. Love riding it for someone like me with height of 5ft. I got the warm gray color the design is way better than any other e-bikes I have seen. It runs fast and battery life is excellent, I just wished that there’s a rear suspension as well. I get a lot of great compliments about its design.

I bought my One Ride Up Portola about a month ago so I've had a chance to really ride it. Originally I bought it to use as a fishing bike along the Cape Cod Canal. It was fantastic for that. I also use it for recreational riding. The bike has far exceeded my expectations. It was easy to put together and it was ready to go right out of the box. I have mostly used it in pedal assist- in numbers 1,2 and 3. So easy to pedal in pedal assist. The brakes work great and the shifting is super smooth with the gearing. I must have covered 15 miles one day at the canal and only used about a quarter of the battery. My battery is a 10.4AH. I mounted a milk crate to the back of the bike for my fishing rod and equipment. I screwed a board to the bottom of my crate and mounted the Connect + adapter bracket which I also purchased. This bracket allows me to remove the crate when folding up the bike and reattaching is simple. The adapter is a highly valuable piece of equipment for this bike and the possibilities of customizing additions to the rack are endless. I see NO NEGATIVES to this bike. A real good deal and highly recommended.

Love the quality of the build. We bought two. One for me and one for my wife. Live in a hilly area and with both of us at age 69 the Portola is a great ride. Will recommend to our friends and family. My Portola had the emblem attached upside down but that makes it a collector bike. See photo.

What a beautiful bike! I was expecting it to be smaller but ends up being the perfect size. I especially love that it’s foldable and can actually fit into my Mini Cooper. The quality is great and the ride is amazing! I had the best time taking it out for my first ride and got A LOT of compliments!

This is my first ebike. This has been a great option for both travel or exercise so far. I use it to bike to work with pedal assist on so I can get there quicker, then I turn pedal assist fully off or to low when I bike home to get some exercise. Having that freedom is great. It’s pretty easy to fold too, so it’s easy to transport it in a car to bring it to a trail. Haven’t done that yet, but I definitely plan to. As a complete beginner to ebikes and higher end bikes in general, this has definitely met any expectations I had for it.

I purchased two Ride1Up Portola folding e-bikes with the 13.4Ah battery, and overall, I’ve been very happy with both. Owning two of the same model gave me a good sense of consistency—both bikes arrived solid and perform reliably.

The 750W motor delivers strong acceleration and handles hills without any issues. The cadence sensor works great for me—it’s smooth, predictable, and well-suited for everyday riding. I don’t have experience with torque sensors, but I’ve had no complaints with how power is delivered.

The 13.4Ah battery upgrade is definitely worth it. Range has been more than enough for longer rides, and having two bikes makes it perfect for riding together.

The folding design is very practical for transport and storage, especially with two bikes. Despite being foldable, they feel sturdy and come well-equipped with hydraulic brakes, suspension fork, lights, fenders, and a rear rack.

Assembly is mostly straightforward, but there is one major pain point: aligning the handlebar stem with the front fork. It took effort to get it properly lined up, and for someone less experienced—or older—it could easily turn into a frustrating process or require a second person to hold and align things correctly.

There were also a few issues with included accessories. The derailleur guard came without instructions, the mounting holes didn’t line up properly, and it didn’t include the longer screws required for installation. I had to contact support to have the correct hardware mailed out, which felt unnecessary for a basic included part.

The bikes are also on the heavier side, so lifting or carrying them—especially two—can be a challenge.

Ride quality is comfortable thanks to the wide tires and suspension, making it suitable for both city riding and rougher paths.

Overall, the Ride1Up Portola offers excellent value for the price. Buying two turned out to be a great decision—they’re powerful, practical, and fun to ride. A few quality control and assembly quirks aside, I would still recommend them.

    Pros

Strong 750W motor with good acceleration
Cadence sensor works smoothly and reliably
    Long-range 13.4Ah battery
Excellent value for the features included
Fully equipped (rack, lights, fenders, suspension)
Great for riding with a partner or family

    Cons

Handlebar stem alignment during assembly is difficult
Derailleur guard fitment issues (holes misaligned)
Missing hardware for included accessory (had to contact support)
No instructions for derailleur guard installation
    Heavier than expected
