Can I switch the handlebars to another model? minus plus

No. The variations you see on the site are the only options we have.

Can you ship to _______? minus plus

We only ship within the US and Canada. The contiguous United States is FREE. Hawaii and Alaska is $600. Shipping to Canada is $100. We are not responsible for any additional tariffs charged by your local government which often times applied after importing. Unfortunately, we are not able to ship our bikes directly to Europe. Are the bikes water-proof? minus plus

The bikes are not water-proof, they are water-resistant. While we do not recommend leaving the bikes out in the rain or riding in the rain or other hazardous conditions due to personal safety, the bikes can handle low pressure exposure to water. Do not submerge in water or expose to pressurized air or water. Storing your ebike in the elements could shorten the lifespan of the electric bike.

We love our new Portola E-bikes and wish we had discovered them earlier. My wife and I are recovering road bikers, and after 1000s of miles on the road and with multiple Gran Fondos and organized rides under our belt, we stopped riding because, well, we were just not as young as we used to be. In searching for the right e-bike, we needed a fold-up, one that was light enough to lift into our RV, affordable, and with most of the sought-after components and metrics. The Portola ticked all the boxes, and coming in around 50lbs without the battery, we can lift and easily store the bikes. Out of the box, it was easy to unfold, and we were riding in minutes. One of the bikes had a minor glitch in the shifting in a particular gear, so the Ride1Up support team immediately recommended I take it into a bike shop to have the derailleur professionally adjusted. I took the bike in, it was fixed, and Ride1up reimbursed me for the cost. Their support team is top-notch. The bike is a joy to ride, and with our old knees, it is nice to have that extra boost getting over the hill. The battery seems to last forever, but we haven’t gone on really long rides yet. The throttle and pedal assist are very smooth and not overpowering, but quite responsive when needed. And another important factor – it looks great and we love the color. We added a mirror, a bag in the back, a phone holder, a water bottle cage, and a bouncy seat stem, and we look forward to every next ride, even at the ripe old age of 72. We highly recommend the Ride1Up Portola.

I like everything but the cadence sensor. For a few dollars more they could use a torque sensor that would be much safer to ride.

After having my first ebike stolen, I was on a quest to find a new bike that checked all of my boxes and stayed within my budget. Boy-oh-boy did the Portola deliver! It has the speed, the power, the comfort, and the safety to match much more expensive bikes. My father put the final 5% of the bike together (it comes 95% assembled) and raved about how much better the Portola is compared to my previous bike. The ONLY thing I was surprised by was the color… I ordered the indigo matte and was expecting a bit more color, but it looks more like a dark charcoal gray.

Love the bike. It will travel approximately 60miles on a charge when riding the cross country trail we have. Takes approximately 3hrs to fully charge. I am 5'-7" tall and the only thing I would want is the seat back 1-2"further. Ride is awesome & great power when needed.

I purchased the Portola last fall and I couldn’t be happier. It has the best features for the price and with adding the cooler and touring package it is perfect for me. Very comfortable to ride long distances and the larger battery gives you that confidence to keep riding further. Love it!

Nearly have 100 miles on it already and it’s wonderful. Really glad I spent the extra money for the bigger battery. Only downside is that the seat is really uncomfortable, but that is easily solved; also had a mild problem with the folding, it’s definitely something you gotta work out. It just kinda seems like the strap is too short sometimes, but I got the hang of it.

Bought roughly 2 months ago, was easy to setup and no issues so far. It’s replaced a vehicle for us and is doing pretty good at it. Got the 13.4ah battery and the range has been pretty good, only need to charge once a week and on weekends for commute and weekend shopping.

Picked up the majority of accessories and they’ve been SUPER helpful with runs to town, the nicer seat is worth it for us. There’s only 1 pretty freaking decent hill we have to take, and it does great on it. We do live kinda rural with some bumps but it’s all paved, town is roughly 1 1/2 miles from us.

We got the Portola because we wanted a folding bike to throw in a coworkers vehicle in case of bad weather, little cover on it good to go. No issues so far and the weight is manageable.
