Super radical doubled my range I’m about 210lb just road 48 miles in boost mode the whole time (25-28mph) about 20 miles of my ride was on off road trails in Florida lots of deep sugar sand still had 25 % battery after the ride… road it out 60 miles to the coast in mostly tour mode sometimes went into boost mode all on pavement made it there with 35% battery life left

Received the range extender battery for my Roadster V2 Gravel edition in just a few days. I am impressed with the ease of installation and it doubled my range as advertised. I am also happy with the size of the battery and added a photo to show size comparison with standard water bottles. I want to add that I am also very pleased with customer service. I purchased this battery with my new Roadster V3. It nearly doubles the range as expected. It is a good vale when compared to range extenders for competing brands and works well, with the extender compleminting the built-in battery. I recommend that you ride the bike before purchasing the range extender and determine if you need the extra range. The range of my Roadster V3 without the extender is very close to the advertised range. Also, read the installation instructions before you buy. Installation of the range extender can take longer than the assembly of the bike itself. There was a stripped screw on a cover plate on the bicycle that made installation more challenging. The last comments are on the item itself. If you remove the range extender for charging, the cable that attaches the battery to the bike is recessed, making the cable difficult to remove. The holder for the battery has a couple of design issues, the flexible strap that retains the battery sticks out and can rub on your leg while peddling. The water bottle holder screws that come on the bike are not recessed in the holder and rub on the battery case. Overall, this is a worthwhile upgrade if the standard range is not adequate. The extender works well, with a controller that shares the load between the extender and the primary battery. There are some small implementation issues that could be improved, mostly with the holder that comes with the extender.

Just completed the add-on battery install for my 2024 Roadster V2 (not the gravel edition). I wasn’t in love with losing the bottle holder but I really wanted the extended range, and it’s kind of clever to design it like a water bottle. The connector on the bottom of the battery is not a quick disconnect, so that’s probably a deterrent in it being swiped, as well.
The installation instructions were overall very helpful, though a video seeing someone successfully follow them might prove more useful. I’m usually pretty good at stuff like this, but I found the bike’s chamber to be incredibly tight already, and there was very little space for the added connector and battery balancing module to fit inside, along with all the wires, some of them stiff and rather thick. Of course you need to be kind of careful with the connections, so I had some concern about literally stuffing wires and components into the frame far enough to get the new cap installed. (Pic in the instructions online of the completed install before the cap goes on shows plenty of space, but that’s not how mine looked at all). In the end I was able to finagle things inside far enough to get the new cap installed. Whew.
Everything checked out okay and I’m definitely looking forward to the added range. Despite the install, I’m glad to see Ride1UP offering the add-on for the discontinued V2. I’ve been truly happy with mine but reluctant to take it on too long a trip because of range anxiety. The single gear kind of makes power assist a necessity for me on startups, especially on an incline or when I become tired.
