I finally decided on what my first e-bike was going to be, and I'm glad I chose the LMT'D. I mainly got it for the fact that it has a torque sensor, but the other features are satisfactory. The upright seating position, step through frame, and swept back handlebars make this an excellent commuter bike. The throttle will keep me around 20mph easily. As for the pedal assist, I can keep it around 25mph pedaling comfortably, but with a little more hard pedaling I can get up to that 28mph top speed, and even a little more with some tail wind. While I'm not a big fan of derailleurs, the Shimano Altus is quick and snappy with the shifting. The gears come in handy quite a lot with hill climbing, which I should mention this bike is a hill climbing beast. On the lowest gear on the highest pedal assist, this thing handles even the steepest hills in my town, and there are a lot of hills here. As of now I use this bike for daily commuting to work and back. It does exactly what it needs to and it's super fun to ride. Thankfully, it is also a bit lighter than most other e-bikes, meaning that I can get this up and down the stairs in my apartment complex. Some things to note: The assembly is a bit tricky and time consuming. Be prepared for it, make sure to watch Ride1Up's video. The lock nut for the chain ring is counterclockwise, and it comes with a 1/2inch driver tool, which is handy. Make sure to do some setting up with the derailleur within your first few rides to make sure that it's shifting quickly and not clanking or scratching while you pedal. Check the box for any loose screws; I ended up finding the screw for the screen mount after searching the box for any missing parts. I willing gave up having a pre installed rack and integrated taillight so I could have a torque sensor, but I say it's a fair compromise for the price. I can always get the rack Ride1Up sells for it afterwards. If you want a torque sensor e-bike, this is the one to get. If you don't mind the cadence sensor and you want the rack and taillight, Ride1Up also sells the 700 Series bike for the same price. Overall, the bike is awesome. It's fast, fun, climbs hills, and it's great for commuting. I would highly recommend this bike to anyone that wants a powerful e-bike with a torque sensor.

On a scale of 1-10, I would give it an 11 if I could. I don't write a lot of reviews, but this bike is AMAZING. It demands a few words for the folks at Ride1Up. They have built a superior product. I purchased the bike a few months ago for use as a "gravel bike". I ride 50% pavement and 50% fire roads and trails. After an initial disappointment upon receiving a bent rear wheel out of the carton (not R1U's fault, the trucker mishandled), they quickly replaced it with a spare and paid for the installation at my local shop. Bonus points for customer service. Since then, it has been an absolute blast to ride. I live in a hilly area and the final climb up a monster hill to my house always required extra motivation to ride my old Trek mountain bike. No more! I have added a set of Schwalbe Hurricane tires to give it a bit more bite on gravel/dirt paths. The Groove-E tires that came with were great for street riding, but a little scary in fast corners off-road. I also added a stem extender to the handle bars, since I am 6' 3" and the frame geometry was a tad small. With the extender, it is fine. The stem extender was cheap and quick to install, taking all of 5-10 minutes. Let me say that the torque sensor on this bike is phenomenal. It is way, WAY better than a cadence sensor bike and it really smooths out the hills. The front air shock is also fantastic. Overall, the bike's setup lets me get a great workout in when I really push it. Yes, it is a heavy bike, but I still find my workouts are mostly with zero peddle assist, except on big hills, or when I am really tired heading home. Meanwhile, when I am going for a lazy cruise on a Sunday afternoon, it is a smooth, comfy ride. In either case, the bike has fantastic range. Overall, kudos to the peeps at Ride1Up. They deliver an outstanding product and stand behind it. Highly recommended. (Photos attached below. Apologies for the mud. It's been raining and I have been grinding off-road a bit!)

Tires were strapped so tightly that they were deformed, Had to inflate, deflate, twist multiple times before they would run without wobble. Assembly instructions were confusing with parts not shown and links leading nowhere. Had to add a spacer between the kickstand and the frame to keep my heel from hitting when pedaling. The assist level is barely visible on the display because of the color choice, blue on black. Fenders and rack are out of stock so I had to buy aftermarket ones. Overall I am happy with the value, fit, finish, performance, weight and range. I love the torque sensor and the ability to change parameters with the display.

Come on, get out of here - this thing really exceeded my expectations. I was really excited when I ordered this, and worried I was going to be let down. The opposite was the case! Right from the get go, this specific model is sporty and the performance is just perfect and exceeded my expectations literally. I even ordered my wife a Cafe Cruiser, which is a very different bike, but we are satisfied with that as well. I will say, it takes not an insignificant amount of tuning for someone like me to get it where I like it, but I think that has to do with how sporty it is and how you will want to really dial it in. The brakes especially took a lot of burn in and centering. Working with R1Up has been pleasant. I did meet the wheels trued. The popped and creaked. Probably would have been fine to just tighten the spokes, but they were quick to credit me for the shop to do it. The assembly wasn't too hard. Definitely take your time with it. There are some details that need to be updated. For example, I was worried the Torque sensor would be difficult, but it was probably the easiest part. This is probably the favorite thing I have bought in years. Just the combination of practical, useful, and fun makes it hands down a no brainer and I would do it again a million times over.

I feel like a kid again. The thoughts of “oh man, I’ve gotta ride up that hill” fade away and a shear enjoyment of riding a bike becomes your mantra. It’s a great bike for both road and smooth fire roads.

Only 80 miles on it so far but very impressed. Incredibly smooth and quiet plus looks about as close to a non-ebike as an ebike can. It has no problem getting to 28mph in PA 1. I thought I would want to setup 5 levels of PA but the stock 3 levels has worked great, I rarely get out of 1. I have been using it on pavement, gravel and some single track MTB trails. The stock bars were a bit to narrow for me so I put on a RaceFace Atlas and it feels much more stable now. Also, a set of RaceFace Chester pedals were a no-brainer. Additional upgrades/mods and ongoing reviews will be on Instagram: lmtd_23

Great bike, sleek, good looking with chunky rubber. The torque sensor is next level for me, allowing a very natural bike riding feel. Range has been exceptional, I find myself in P1 95% of my ride, I am routinely getting 50 miles on a 90 percent charge, with 47 volts showing when I charge. Fun to ride and pretty stealthy as well.

Worst online purchase ever. I was sent 2 bent wheels on my ST, with spokes that were unusable. and would be unsafe. The rear rim looked like a warped roller coaster. There was no way to true the wheels because they just spun around and around. So I needed to buy brand new spokes and have the wheels rebuilt. When I sent sent Ride1Up a pictures and a video, they insulted my mechanic (who's been building wheels for 40 years, and actually went to China to help them build ebikes) and they ordered a 2nd opinion. I wasn't about to gather the whole bike in parts and drive an hour away so Ride1Up could then say, "Not good enough. Get a 3rd opinion." When I asked Customer Support to sell me a new rim, they didn't even bother to reply to my email. To rebuild the wheels it cost $270 for labor and parts . When I submitted this for reimbursement, they were very rude and refunded me $50, which is nowhere near the cost of relacing and rebuilding wheels. I've been buying bikes since the late 1970s. This was by far my worst experience. Caveat Emptor, folks.

Loving my LMT'd so far. Fast, solid and very cool looking e-bike. The bike arrived in 2 days. No damage to the box. Assembly was easy following the video instructions. Wheels were true and brakes in-line. Derailer was dialed-in perfectly. I have 200+ miles so far on it and battery life is amazing. Can't say enough on how much I am enjoying this E-Bike and the help and response from Ride1Up CS so far. I highly recommend the company and especially the LMT'd model. For my needs it has been a great bike and purchase.

Lots of things to say, almost entirely positive. But OK, I think it would be better for both men and women to have not just a pure women's model, as you'd call the "Step Through/ST", but a pure man's model with a top tube being horizonal or nearly so, such as on Marin hybrid models. A real guy doesn't need any step though does he? You can call a spade something not a spade, but it's still a spade, right? That's straight talk from me. It's not just about an imperfect image or perceptions either; That's a 55 pound bike with the battery in, that's a two arm lift till you get it up to shoulder level, and a top tube at that kind of a slant makes it more ungainly to dead lift to a degree every time. So in making it into something that is presumably supposed to apply to more people's use, you also make it into something slightly less easy to move around every single time, for all of the people who get it. For a man, there is zero gain there. Finally, unless we're Scotsmen, we don't need room for a skirt do we?! Ha! I think you guys went a little over the top on the reflectors. The first thing I did was to remove every one excepting the one's fitted to the pedal platforms, and added a rear flashing light. Oh yeah, another issue caused by the compromised top tube as I discussed, is that when you mount a water holder on the vertical tube, you can't use ordinary sized containers which would fit either pure road or hybrid man's style bikes: One has to get a shorter, fatter one, which barely fits, and also use a flexible cage to make that work. But alright, while those things had to be pointed out, they could seem disproportionate. It's a really good bike, with many good things about it. I find that it's not so heavy that going on zero power is any kind of a problem at all. Often I'm able to do 20MPH with zero power on flats, and I usually warm up for a ways with no power on, sometimes for more than a mile. I've even done steep hills with no power on in low gears just to test out what could be done with it. It is a little clunky from my perspective but not overly. It handles pretty well considering the added weight compared to a 35 pound regular bike. The tires on this bike are large but not too large. The tires as part of the whole show that this bike is geared to being more normal looking like a cruiser style bike is more normal looking or a MTB style bike is more normal looking. I mean to say that that is the overall appearance. Some e-bikes look aesthetically ridicules for size and weight and style while this one doesn't, as is the case with most of what you have in your line-up. It is and it appears to be a practical ride for a practical guy. Also about the tires I am quite sure that part of the reason for the impression I've had for the bike concerning stability and handling at higher bike speeds is due to these tires. I've had it up to nearly 40 MPH on downhills, 37-39MPH that is, and it feels like it was made for it. Clearly it's a combination of things like with weight besides the tires, but it's been one of the most distinct things noticeable compared to any other bike I've ridden. I'm very impressed with the use of the gears--very smooth to shift and a very good brand with the Shimino, although one higher rear gear more would be an improvement. Which brings me to another impression; Ok for downshifting when the power is on, there ought to be an easy way to cut the power temporarily because unless you have the time to button press the power level down to zero before you start downshifting, the motor keeps giving you the juice which is unwanted at that point. It forces you to plan ahead kind of unnaturally and wastes battery power. I really like the lack of fenders and rack on this since there are several uses for the bike for me. Having added weight on all the time is not something I need. Just so you know correspondingly, I have honored my promise (for the $43 off) for making fewer trips in my pickup truck. For instance between the use of both of my bikes for it, I've not driven for groceries one time in more than a month, yet I get all I need. I make use of a German bike backpack and not racks. Filling that up can be 25 plus lbs. of weight at times when you consider loads with sacks of dog food, wine, milk. Well then, I guess that's enough. Those are some of my impressions for the Limited model. I've been riding more with the combination of my two bikes in the last month than for just about any previous month in the last six years having bikes again. Getting this has certainly upped my interest in cycling generally for both thinking and doing. Regards, Derek M. Jolly Prescott Valley, AZ

Wow, I really should have gone with Ride1Up sooner. The LMT'D has quality is spades, the motor is smooth, the Shimano Altus 8 speed needed very little adjusting, and it shifts buttery smooth. The grips are extremely comfortable, the brakes have incredible 2 finger stopping power and that torque sensor!!! Amazing. It really does make you feel a bit like Superman, on the trail in the picture above, I passed some nice folks on "regular" bikes, and I heard the kid say "wow dad, look at him", and I knew I would never ride anything but an ebike. Only 2 improvements that I can see, the saddle is very firm, and hurts after a bit (easy and inexpensive to replace) and the pedals. The pedals are fine, but a bit plasticy, but there again, personal preference, and easily fixable. The LMT'D really has to be the absolute best value out there. Thanks Ride1up, we just bought a Core-5 for my wife because you earned that repeat business!

I did a ton of research and ended up landing on the LMT'D as a time sensitive gift for a family member. Ordered it and it arrived on time. Took out all of the parts, triple checked the box for any stray parts. Started the assembly video just to find that I could not even do the first main step. My order was missing the cap and bolt that is supposed to be attached to the front fork. Checked EVERYWHERE, unpacked everything and it was nowhere to be found. Was really excited but was unable to use/gift this. Additionally, the clamp that holds the handlebars in place was completely uneven so I loosened it to center the clamp. This uncovered damage due to the incorrectly centered clamp..

I've already logged in about 200 miles on this bike in the last month and I am in love with its torque, power, and smoothness of the torque sensor, all for a fantastic price! The box mine arrived in was in very poor condition, torn up and the top was open, so I was worried about the condition of the bike, but it was packaged fine, no missing pieces and no damage to the paint that I've heard about from some reviewers. Assembly is definently involved as I've never put together a bike before, but the YouTube videos were very well done and I was able to do it on my own with no issues in about an hour and a half. I purchased fenders too and they were very well made and easy to install, as long as you're OK with removing the rear tire which I would recommend everyone to learn for future maintenance. Lots of videos online about tuning the brakes and derailleur as well. If that sounds intimidating to you, a bike shop will put it all together for you for about $150. Assembly aside, once put together this thing is a beast and I can't stop riding it!

Easy to assembly and everything worked perfectly, with no adjustment. Torque sensor and high power motor make the bike fun, fast and hill capable. My 18 year old son uses the bike to commute to his job at the local Pavillons market. I would recommend this bike for anyone looking for a powerful fast commuter, being without fenders makes the bike easier to fit in out compact suv, when we need to transport it. 200 miles and no problems.

I’ll start with the bad before the good. The bike arrived with a bent front brake disc, several chips, and a bent rear hoop. Now the company did credit me $40 to acquire a paint match at the local paint store. They also, refunded me for the service to get the brake trued, wheel swap, and they overnighted me a new rear wheel assembly. Still worried about the rear wheel spokes getting loose due to the motor. The bike motor for some reason kicks on soon as the system powers up before adding any assistance, weird. The rear wheel still makes some noise, but maybe it’s normal. Now for the good parts, the bike feels good, it’s light, looks sleek. I’m glad I’ve got the front headlight now. The motor is great and their responsiveness and customer service have been good. I’ve got 36 miles on it so far, if I can update this review after more miles I will.

I have loved my bike so far. Have about 500 miles on it. I usually ride in 1 assist level and when doing so I get up to 50 miles on a charge. I did one 70-mile ride with an hour charge during it. The bike is comfortable and provides a smooth ride. I had some brake adjustment issues and needed a new shifter. Customer service was great paying for the service and part from my local bike shop. I highly recommend this bike! How do you like my home made bike rack?

Purchased my LMT'D XR back in August '22, and have been very pleased with the performance. This is my 5th ebike purchased or built, and it's quickly become my favorite. Design/Build - this bike has a well designed and welded frame...welds are smoothed and integrated to the design. Most bikes at or even well above this price point have visible welds. Paint is good (Sand/Black). and I love how the battery and controller is integrated, with a clever black paint treatment that tricks the eye and makes the frame appear less bulky and is continued on the down tube. Logos and branding are muted, and love the classy chunky Ride1UP medallion mounted up front on the head tube. Components - Tektro hydraulic brakes are perfectly balanced, easy to modulate with a light squeeze. The Shimano 8 speeds rather than 7 like most others is great, the shifts are precise up and down the range. Power from the MXUS 100nm motor is impressive, with quiet operation. The torque sensor really is the best of both types, and delivers a natural ride quality along with better range abilities, and in tandem with a rear hub motor, really sets this bike apart from others. The display controller settings let you set power outputs at various assist levels, along with other useful options. Adjustable air shocks are very nice bonus at this price point, they have plenty of travel and smooth out the rougher terrain easily. The Groove E tires are a great balance to sizing and ride quality, and this logo is muted too. Riding - Compared to the other ebikes i've owned, this one is the favorite of all. With 300 miles logged, have had zero issues with bike and components. The power delivery is natural, easily modulated and range has been well above stated numbers. I weigh 190 and do 25-35 miles with various terrains, power assist levels and liberal throttle usage with plenty of juice left over. Frame is stiff but still limber, and feels agile for a ebike. It will transition to rougher terrain with ease, and feels super smooth on pavement. Ride position is slightly upright, and bars have a little sweep maybe 6-8 degrees, which I like. Good on commutes, but fun to just ride light trails too. Easily handles inclines, and throttle gives full power at any PAS level. Overall - Outside of minor delivery damage which was well supported and cared for, I would rate this bike and company 9 out of 10. Love the extra power promised, a true Class 3 bike runs 31+mph. Long range ability, torque sensor and throttle combo are rare and work perfectly in combo with the MXUS hub motor. Better components with out the fluff; I prefer to have my own seat choice and other accessories so would rather have the money in build and components, and this bike has it in covered. Assembly was a snap with easy to follow instructions online.

I really really like my LTD’d XR. Ride1Up recently added some features to make it the bike I was looking for but did not exist in a single package at this price point until now. The LMT’d is on the lighter side of eBikes and feels quick and nimble. It is very tight and responsive with no rattles. The recently improved motor on the XR is powerful and nearly completely silent. One of my biggest pet peeves is the loud motor whine from direct to consumer bikes and Ride1Up has addressed and resolved this annoyance. The bike now comes with an integrated front headlight as well which is actually pretty good. I found battery life to achieve the listed range of 30-50 miles depending on power levels used. The torque sensor is very smooth and natural feeling. Frame welds are nice and smooth and the paint finish is excellent. My box did arrive with some damage, but the bike itself did not have any scratches. This bike does require a bit more assembly than other brands, but if you are somewhat mechanically inclined, watch the video and take your time. Mine did come with the front handlebars mounted upside down in the front stem, so I did have to unbolt and flip them around. The front brake line was sharply bent with a kink but does work. Other than this, I had no issues with the bike shipping or assembly. All said I am super happy with this bike. I added an Ibera PakRak trunk rack with quick release bag. If you are looking for a great quality eBike in this style and do not want to spend $3k+, you really can’t go wrong with the Ride1Up LMT’d.

What a bike! I made only 200 miles so far, mainly due to the cold weather, but this bike motivated me several days to leave my car in the box and enjoy a ride. Starting from the beginning: the e-bike arrived few days after the order: it was very easy to track the shipping process. The bike, as you well know, comes in a box, quite well protected from accidental damages during transportation. The unboxing and assembly was quite easy, but I strongly recommend to watch the video and carefully check some important steps, to prevent some issues to appear over time. Be also sure you will have with you the right tools and some grease, to apply in the key areas and prevent rust or noises. But all that said, the assembly process took around 1 hour. While assembly the bicycle, I recharged the battery, and I waited another 2 hours before testing it. The first impression, after turning on the bike was WOW! Especially if you aren’t used to an e-bike, the feeling when the electric motor activates is awesome. The power of the motor, even using the step 1 (of the 3 available) is already enough to allow you to go fast and manage any small moderate hill on your ride. If you need to manage higher inclinations you can always count on the step 2; the third step is really too much, unless you don’t want to go at the highest speed with almost no effort and, of course, you don’t mind to discharge the battery after 10 miles… Speaking of which: this bike offers one of the biggest battery in the market, to grant a decent mileage; I was quite disappointed, at the beginning, by the fact that I was able to make only 15-20 miles with one full charge; but then I’ve realised that I was riding almost every time at around 20-25mph, using the throttle from time to time and testing the bike on some moderate off-road tracks. In the following days I tried to use the bike more wisely and I noticed that I drained less energy from the battery. After few recharges, I could say that the average mileage will be around 35 miles, with a moderate assistance, medium speed, and good conditions (tires with the right pressure, etc.). Be aware that driving with level 2 and 3 always on and using the throttle will reduce the mileage to maybe the half… Now some considerations on the mechanics: the bike looks very well assembled, with medium quality parts: I don’t love the brakes, even if they are installed in the majority of the e-bikes, even from much more expensive brands. They in any case do their job, stopping the bike in any conditions even if with some vibrations and noise. I like the Shimano gears, even if I would have appreciated at least a 9 speed option, to help more on steep hills or on assisting more the motor on high speeds. Be prepared to make some adjustments to the derailleur (there are a lot of videos to help you on that) to ensure a smooth experience with the shifter. The tires are great to grant enough stability on the road, especially at high speed, but they are not good at all on moderate off-road/ gravel trails where you will risk to loose traction, especially on the front wheel. The frame is designed to grant a very confortable position while riding, without charging too much weigh on your arms/wrists or keep a too aggressive position with our upper body. But also due to the weight, it doesn’t grant the same agility of a standard mountain bike (in case you were dreaming that a 50 plus pounds commuter bike would behave like that) Finally the suspension: it is adjustable and it works ok at low speed but on higher speed and on bumps, I would have expected a better support to reduce the impact on my back… Overall no big issues, if we exclude the difficulty to align the front wheel: this is a quite annoying issue as it generates vibrations while breaking, some noise and a little bit of instability at higher speeds. It will probably require a stop to some shop as I wasn’t able to fix by myself. To conclude my review: a great bike, with a quality still unbeatable for the price, fast and well equipped. My wife loved it and she has stolen it to me several times already…I would have appreciated a more cross road setup, but I realised that this bike hasn’t be conceived for this usage: for that, better to opt for the prodigy XC, maybe my next purchase, next year, and maybe a necessity, considering that next spring I will barely be able to steal back the lmt’d to my wife… An happy customer here..

The bike is a game changer for me. I can comfortably cover more miles around my city without having to drive my car everytime. The bike lets me navigate hills with ease. The bike lets you work as hard or as easy as you want to. If I want to ride to diner at a restaurant or if I want to get in a workout I can do both on my bike. I no issues setting up my bike. I did have a question about my front shocks and Ride1up responded quickly with an answer along with some supporting links to youtube videos. So far I've logged almost 100 miles with no issues. I've added several accessories like a rear rack, a rear light, and a bike lock. Love my bike.

Absolutely Love It! I have put 300 miles on it in the first month, started with a cheap e-bike and liked it a lot, this thing is like riding a Cadillac. I really like you can set your own setting for battery output. Even level one was helping way to much, put it at 8%. Put on a drink holder in the front (not much room inside frame) a rear rack, phone bag in the front, seat post shock and its good for long trips! Going to order my wife the Step through model!

There are only 3 things that need to be improved 1. The location of the water bottle lugs negates the ability to step through the frame! Useless. 2. The location of the rear rack lugs are also useless as they are angled at 45 degrees away from the rear! Impossible to use any rack using those lugs to attach the rack (including the rack Ride1Up sells!). (See my review and pics) 3. The rear brake rotor has zero clearance with the frame. It sometimes rubs against the frame. I have no idea how to correct it. Other than that I love the bike. It is unique having BOTH a throttle and a torque sensor. The tires are wide enough to ride on any off-road terrain except soft sand but run quiet and smooth on roads. I also appreciate the weight being lower than most full size ebikes. The hydraulic brakes are quiet, smooth and sure stopping given the 180mm rotors.

I own 2 of these….one has 947 miles on it, the other has 449 on it. Not one issue with either of them. They haul ballz, for real. Had a road biker today tell me he has never seen an EBike that quick. My Gf has one as well. For the price you can’t find one that is quicker or a better ride. Customer service has been great, and I love supporting a San Diego based Company. These bikes are on sale now, if you are in the market, get it now. Great deal. I paid a lot more. But worth every penny.

Long time biker here. My first off road ride in about 1985 was on Railroad Grade on Mt. Tam in Marin county Ca, where the genre was invented. Since then I've owned numerous Mt. bikes including a titanium Lightspeed, Santa Cruz, Klein, Breeze and others. I now live in the midwest but bought the LMT'D on a recent visit to California and shipped it home after few rides in Cali. I took it up Tam as a comparison and was surprised at how capable this bike is. I used PAS 1 or 2 on the steeper sections due to a lack of a true granny gear and found the overall effort was about the same as my other bikes. It took about the same time to climb to the east peak of Tam and the effort was similar as well. Even with the non-knobby stock tires, the bike felt nimble and capable both up and, most importantly, down. Having ridden for over forty years, and at this point in my life, I appreciate having a motor to help getting home after a long ride. I'm happy to share that the LMT'D did not disappoint when compared to my other very high end rides on a trail I'm very familiar with. Here it is at the famous resting spot called West Point Inn about 2/3 up Tam. And a snap of the bike with its current mods.

At 180 miles on the odometer, this runs excellently! This review is for the ride1up lmt'd ST (cadence sensor.) Battery performance from 95% to 30% battery using level 1 pedal assistance (150 watt drive average at 11mph) everywhere constantly. 176 minutes of continuous run time. 34 miles. I also added 10 hills >45 degrees that are impossible alone [would be walking up those] pushing 1000watts per hill I would say this bike lives up the claim of 30-50 mile per charge advertising. I am an obese (260 lbs) rider and 30 lbs overweight on the bike.

Performance meets value in the Ride1Up Lmt'd. This is my first e-bike, and having put in my first 100 miles, I wanted to give my impression. Obviously, it might change with time, and I'm not in the position to compare it with other e-bikes I've owned, but all of my days of research have led me to this model. First--the positives. It arrived nicely protected, with only a minor paint flaw you'd only see on close inspection. Assembly was straightforward enough, but only thanks to the video. The headset assembly was the only place I had to really look that up. Build seems solid, upgraded components are good brand name companies, and the finished look is stealth enough that people don't even notice it's an e-bike (until I zoom past them). 1000w of peak power means it's worthy of my favorite trail, and keeps my legs from turning to jelly. Range has been quite acceptable when you keep the PAS levels low. I've done a few 25 mile rolling hill rides and come back with over 85% power reserve thanks to using the PAS sparingly. For me, the cons are somewhat personal. I could use a few extra inches in the frame, as my riding position is a bit too upright (I'm only 5'9). Seat was swapped out for a more comfortable one. I ditched the pedals for some anodized aluminum ones with much better 'bite' on my riding shoes. Kickstand occasionally hits against my shoes if I'm not mindful of my foot angle. My standard water bottle will not fit, thanks to the low clearance below the seat tube. I've had to go with aftermarket front bottle holder in an already limited space handlebar. The only thing keeping this from being 5 stars is the very generic front fork that is either "too soft", or "locked". I would have ponied up more for a better front shock, even though this was near the top of my budget range already. It's overkill for a commuter, but makes a very solid errand/light trail bike. Compared to the other similar offerings I researched, this one is the value leader for sure.

About 3 months and 900km later, I absolutely love this bike! Couple small issues out of the box: -------------------------------------------------- - Battery snaps into place without being flush with the rest of the frame. You can see it has room to travel downwards if I apply pressure... But this is extremely minor - Seems to be a weird paint mishap around the logo on the frame. Hard to capture, but there is a brush of darker paint there or something, and the logo is a bit obscured. Real world range: ------------------------- - A 30km ride using Pedal Assist Level (PAL) 2 the whole time, the battery percentage read 15% at the end of my ride. - A 30km ride using PAL 3 would drops the battery below 15% - Anything below 15% is dangerous territory, since at around 9% is when PAL will stop completely - The battery seems to have an inconsistent reading of the battery, which can be annoying... For example: after when the battery dropped to 15% from my 30km ride at PAL 2, when I let the bike sit idle for a few minutes, the battery indicator shot up to 44%! If I were to start riding it again, this reading would quickly drop back down... - It seems that perhaps when the battery gets hot enough, the bike starts throttling the power available, which would make sense (just something to consider) In general: --------------- - This bike is an absolute joy to ride - Pedal assist will help you go farther and get more out of your bike - I have put way more biking kms in this year than I ever have at this time, just because riding this bike is so much fun! - With the value for cost, I recommend it to anyone looking for an electric bike!

Ride1Up bike review I purchased a Ride1Up LMT’D about 3 weeks ago and waited until I put 100 miles on the bike so I could give a detailed review. After riding a friend’s e-bike I decided that was the way to go and began my search. Today it seems that everyone is making an e-bikes so I really dove into research on the internet. Reading articles, watching videos and comparing features brought me to Ride1Up. How and where you ride is an important decision in e-bike selection. I mostly ride paved bike trails and bike lanes on city streets so that’s what I focused on. A class 3 bike with a throttle was a must as well as disk brakes and front suspension. Gave a very hard look at the 700 series before deciding on the LMT’D as I would not be using it to commute to work or run errands. Frame selection was also a factor. I like the ease of the step through frame but went with the XC style as I think it would be stronger for my riding weight of 242 lbs. Bike was well padded in its shipping box with only some very minor frame scratches. It comes with a BBT-22 tool that in not the best quality. It had a lot of flashing on the teeth that had to be filed down to fit. I recommend getting a higher quality one like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Park-Tool-BBT-22-Shimano-Cartridge/dp/B001A0AIAG/ref=sr_1_2?crid=1CV78GW4VA5ST&dchild=1&keywords=bbt-22+bottom+bracket+tool&qid=1619213672&sprefix=bbt-22%2Caps%2C246&sr=8-2 Assembly went well after watching the assembly video, reading the bike manual and fixing the BBT-22 tool. Pumped up the tires, checked the charge on the battery and took it out for a short test ride. Handling was great, shifting was crisp and precise, motor response was amazing. One small fly in the ointment was a strange sound and slight jerk on each chain revolution. No such noise or jerk using throttle only. Back in the garage I put it on the bike rack (recommended) and spotted the problem right away. One link in the chain was frozen. In my 55+ years of bike riding I have never encountered this so I was a bit puzzled. Contacted Ride1Up and they referred me to a service video dealing with that exact problem. Following the steps shown I resolved the problem and when riding the next day. Now the fun really ramped up. In level 3 power assist I could hit the advertised 28 MPH. It felt like I was Lance Armstrong winning the Tour De France! During my first 100 miles I did have a flat tire and of course it was on the rear! Luckily it went flat after I made it home so I had all my tools and a bike stand at my disposal. First I watched the video on how to remove the rear tire being careful of the battery connector. Here is where it got interesting. On the LMT’D there are extra brackets on the axle bolts that have to be undone. After that and loosening the axle nuts the rear wheel is supposed to come right out of the drop-outs. On my bike they will not come out or re-install without removing the derailleur! This sucks because this will throw off your shifting. Again there is a video on how to adjust the derailleur and I fixed it. So that is my major gripe with this bike. If they could somehow fix it so the rear tire and rim comes off the dropouts without removing the derailleur it would be ideal. That said, would I buy this bike again? Absolutely! Comparing it to other bikes on the market I believe it has features of bikes costing $1,000.00 to $2,000.00 more. Smooth ride, good power, great brakes, wonderful handling.

Finished assembling mine last night at 1:30a...and had to ride it. It flies and is smooth while moving quickly. I'm 5'4" and bought the XR. It's a bit tough to stand over, but I like the ride and riding geometry a lot (it's at a good place on the spectrum between aggressive and comfortable, for me). Only one snag assembling it (one of the gaskets on the head tube would 'seat' itself), but relatively simple. Can't wait until the next ride. Thanks again to Apollo for talking me through my decision process. Comfortable seat, excellent tires, torquey motor, torque sensor, solid front shock, stealthy look, decent battery and nice components...if you have shopped like I did for the past few months, and you don't want a behemoth fat tire for road riding, the Lmt'd is the clear winner.

I’m a longtime road cyclist and the LMT’D was my first dip into the e-bike world. Before purchasing it I spent a few weeks agonizing over the decision and comparing it to other models, both from R1UP and a handful of other companies. I’m so glad I went with the LMT’D. In the five or so months I’ve had it, it’s completely exceeded my expectations and I couldn’t be happier. It doesn’t feel like a beast. Maybe it’s because the only other e-bike I’ve ridden was a 60+ pounder that I rented for a day, but I definitely don’t feel at all like I’m straining to handle this bike or keep it upright. I live in the mountains, and it handles super-smoothly, taking tight downhill curves like a charm. Within a half hour of riding the bike felt like an extension of my body. The only time I really notice its weight is when I’m wheeling it out of my garage and over a small concrete barrier. One of the reasons I decided to get an e-bike was because I'd been dealing with on-and-off-again chronic lower back pain. The riser bars are super-comfortable and secure-feeling and put me in an almost upright riding position, which my lower back appreciates. In fact, riding the LMT’D with a little bit of assistance has given me enough confidence to get back into road riding, another great perk. It’s been a perfect bridge. The other reason is to cut down on short car trips and take my two year old around on local backroads. Check, and check. You can definitely get a good workout in if you want to. On the hills/mountains around here, even the highest PAS setting and throttle can’t save you, at least not for long. After each big climb my heart was pounding, and my legs are worn out, in a good way, the day after any long ride. I use the throttle sparingly, for 10 to 15 seconds at a time, max. It’s ridiculously fun, but I enjoy it more when I only indulge on special occasions. I dream about riding this thing, and I’ll take any excuse to wheel it out. Not only that, but I can definitely see it replacing my car for lots of errands. I see many happier years ahead!

My first e-bike and I couldn’t ask for a better one! I ride it about 8 miles a day on fairly flat surfaces and the power is amazing, very quiet, and can go over gravel, large bumps, small bumps, unexpected sticks in the road, and basically anything else you can imagine while riding around town. My 6 pound dog loves riding in a front basket I attached to it! I have used it a few times up very steep trails and she said it has amazing power! I changed the seat for more padding, I am 5’6” and I think the frame could be a bit tall if you are much shorter than that. I have the seat on lowest setting. I love the “oomph” it has but do with it had some more color choices. I contacted them a few times and they responded within a few hours to some questions I had.

My LMT’D st. First the positive news... delivery was only a week, assembly was easy, the bike looks great, plenty of power for hills, able to go 47 miles on PAS, ..28 mph is easy to achieve, comfortable seat, Negative part...motor makes more noise than anticipated, screw missing, chain was twisted and link needed to be removed, At 53+ pounds the bike is heavy witch gives you a solid ride. Looking for Ebikers in Escondido Ca. Been riding for two months....190 miles. Plan on an update after 500+- miles. Chuck????????????

Purchased the Lmtd its my 1st e bike and I’m in love with how quick the bike gets up to speed I already have 40 miles on it so far and I really like it the battery for me is a little on the low end barely achieving the 30 miles but I’m not a light rider I would say I’m about 210 lbs and I’ve used it on the level 3 PAS…. great bike took me quite some research but this is the best bang for your buck it was between the Aventon and this and I chose this glad I did

Purchased two of those, in early Feb 2024. Both step-through. Chose this brand/model for its features, reasonable weight and affordable price Overall very happy. Positive points:

    1. The torque sensor is very responsive.
    2. Like the step-through design. I used to ride a step-over and throw my leg around, but with a rear basket attached that’s not an option.
    3. Good battery range. Mainly using assist level 1, I am getting about 45 miles on somewhat hilly, gravel trails, level 1. My (lighter) wife gets about 10 miles more.
    4. Nice, smooth-shifting gears.
    5. Motor feels strong and is almost perfectly quiet.
    6. Not sure what’s the trick (probably tires), but this bike has very low rolling resistance: reaches 20 mph on a slight downhill without any pedaling.
    7. Except for the confusing instructions for installing the chain ring, assembly was straightforward and most tools provided.
    8. Used to get wrist pain from uncomfortable grips. No more – these feel great. The trick is probably the little flat resting area.
    9. It’s the first bike that I own on which the rear brake actually works, thanks for the magic of hydraulics.
    10. Finally, kudos to the fantastic customer service! Unused to riding an electric bike, my wife soon fell and damaged a brake. Obviously not covered by warranty, a free replacement was nevertheless sent instantly. Thank you, Benito!

    A few not-so-great points
    1. No tail light (but I was able to hook one to the spare connector on the controller).
    2. Controller display dims when lights are on. Apparently no way to change. Nice trick for night riding but we usually ride with lights on at daytime, which makes the display hard to see.
    3. Pedals feel comfortable, but their bearings harsh and noisy. One pedal produced a very annoying squeal from the get-go. Wonderful customer support instantly sent replacements – same brand but bearings are quiet, though still harsh to turn. I will probably buy higher quality pedals.
    4. The controller and all its wiring are hid in a very tight spot next to the bottom bracket. Avoiding an extra box hanging somewhere is esthetically clever, but the wires are jumbled and there was no room for the larger water-proof connectors for lights, torque sensor, etc. Riding through puddles, water can enter this spot quite easily through the wiring hole. Time will tell…
    5. One of the two bikes came with the derailleur totally unadjusted and stuck in the highest gear. It was a good opportunity to learn how to adjust it…
    6. Assembly requires tightening the chain ring retainer to a specified torque. I understand the reluctance to pre-install the very thin chain ring to avoid shipping damage and appreciate providing the special BB tool, but but how many bikers own a torque wrench?
    7. Pet peeve: nice trick to provide a “walking option” on the controller, but it’s way too fast: who walks a bike at 4mph? Should have been around 2.5 mph.

    Love my LMTD but learned:
I can Power away from other ebikes until my battery is gone as they pass by me.
Full power throttle on very steep hill over heated (melted) controller & motor. Battery rain cap is not durable. Not adequate length/space on headset goose neck. Display-Integrated head & rear lights & fenders not provided. I Iearned that step-thru really limits bike rack choices. Still I can ride 29-30 mph on flats , have reached 35 mph downhill, leaving others behind , until they ride past me after my extra power prematurely exhausts my battery. My display is squirrelly, compared to friends. Still love my LMTD!!! … but not so much ( fenderless) on wet roads.

My wife and I love our Ride1Up e-bikes. I own the LMT’D and she has 700 series. Both are so effortless to use and easy to maintain. They easily get 40-50 miles a charge. We waited till we owned them a year before reviewing to allow the “new” to wear off and we still love them. We actually had a problem or two with our order and one bike initially, but the follow up by their customer service took care of us and we were very satisfied. Very comfortable rides. Highly recommend!!!
