Additionally, we are now supporting an independent network of owners offering their bikes for demos. Learn more here Locations

Ride1Up is the perfect bike for me! Love the ease of pedalling and getting distance I want to go. Here I am rockin' it on the Northern Rail Trail at the Boston mile marker. Final words - sorry I waited so long to purchase!!

Absolutely loving my Ride 1UP 500 Series. Super battery life and all the power I need. The attached photo on the shore of the Hudson River in NYS requires a 3 mile return trip home uphill all the way. The climb home varies between 5-30 degree incline and with a fresh charge I still have four bars on the power pack. This 66 year old couldn’t be happier with this bike, customer service and support. If you’re on the fence, take it from me and just buy it!

Pardon in advance if this seems disorganized. The bike arrived well packaged, with no damage to any pieces/parts. To be honest, it was fairly easy to assemble even by myself. I've had the bike for about a month and have put ~ 220 miles on it (12-13 round trips to work). My commute is basically flat, so I'm able to sustain 26-29mph with the highest level of pedal assist with an average speed of 21-22mph (I get stopped by various lights). This commute took me 32-45 minutes with my old hybrid bike; with the 500 series, it takes about 24-28 minutes, depending on the lights. As a comparison, it takes me 18 minutes to get to work via automobile. I really like the rugged construction. It feels solid and safe. The front suspension is nice as well. It really helps even out the bumps and potholes that I encounter on my ride. The shifters work really well, even though I don't use them all that much during my work commute ( I keep it in the 8th gear and just throttle myself up to speed when I'm stopped at lights). I like that I still get a good workout when using the pedal assist. I like that you can use the bike as a normal bike even when the battery is at home being charged; that's when the 8 speeds really shine. I like the handgrips a lot. They're very comfortable. There is a significant difference in height between myself and my wife (6'1" vs 5'1"), yet both of us are able to dial in the correct saddle heights for our stature. I don't like the saddle. It's too wide for my sit bones; I had to install a narrower one that's more comfortable for me. I don't like the included light. I have brighter lights and lights that flicker and strobe that I use for coming home at night. I don't like that there is a 2-3 rotation delay on the pedal assist. If Ride1up was to improve on this bike, I would suggest that that they offer either the standard plush saddle or a narrower one at the point of purchase. Also, offer a brighter light with various settings or omit the light altogether in order to save a little $. I'm not sure if it's possible to change the pedal assist delay, but a shorter delay would be an improvement. Overall, I'm very pleased with the 500 series because it's kept me from using my car ever since it arrived! This was the main goal! Cars are a smelly, noisy, ugly abomination in our country and this is my little protest against them. I don't think that I'm going to single-handedly create a revolution, but at least I'm being the change I want to see in the world.

The 500 is my first Ebike, and I couldn’t be happier. I get compliments on it all the time. It definitely makes a statement. I know it states 20mph throttle and 28mph assist. I get to 30mph assist with no problem. I really like having the different assist levels, especially in parking lots, park sidewalks/trails. One minute I can easily keep up with street traffic, next be at a snail pace. While being fully in control the whole time.

4.5 stars. Taking me a little time to get used to the new nuances of electric assist. The motor makes chuffing noises, but it doesn't seem to affect performance. I love racing up hills that had been kicking my a$$ in recent years. I live 15 miles from work, with a 1000' ridge between work & home, and I ride the route more than I drive now. I look forward to the rides, as opposed to getting into traffic, and feel sooo much calmer when I get home.

All the fun in an affordable package. Out-of-the-box it's "tuned" as a commuter for range. We're loving the boost settings a bit zippier (1-25%, 2-35%, 3-50%, 4-70%, 5-96%), even when I have it capped at 20 mph. What a great way to ride down to Cardiff beach in the morning and earn your VGs donut! Only 80 miles on the odometer so far, but trouble free.

Finally got around to riding our new 500 series ebikes as it’s been hot where we live. Loved it !! Found the bike extremely easy and intuitive to ride and use the pedal assist and throttle functions. Assembly was straightforward. The company responds to your inquiries quickly which is more then I can say for a couple of the other large ebike companies. Product feels solid. Great job Ride1up.

Great bike! No issues at all so far. I think it is even better than many more expensive models. It does the job well, has decent components and at the same time noticeably lighter than most of other ebikes of this size and power. I would totally buy another one if I needed it for another family member. Great support from Ride1Up. I did not need to contact them about this bike (500), but I had a problem with another one and they solved it quickly.

Nice product, I have ride about 60 miles so far. Battery works as advertised. I live in a very hilly area with few stretches' of straightaways, battery gets down to 10% after 25 to 35 miles depending on my pedaling, which is constant. I do not travel with out pedaling. I imagine that in the city it would perform even better. I am using the default setting (0-5) for power and occasionally I switch to 1-5. I have not touch any other settings until I learn a bit more. I am happy with the bike, and I would give it a 5 star rating except these details: For the initial shipping damage that bent the derailleur. I believe that the extremely thick bracket that they attach to the bike to protect it, causes more damage when push in by handlers in the shipping process. This bracket is attached at one end, any loads at the opposite end ( about 3 in long) bends the part that is suppose to protect. Customer service replace the part very quickly, so I am also happy with their response. A different design with cushioning around that area would work better. If you order fenders and other accessories, there is no instructions how to install them. Also they include the exact amount of screws to do the job, so if you happen to loose or damage one, you are out of luck because there is no reference any where as far the size or type of thread of any attaching hardware. All in all is a well made bike, strong frame, quality components, that should last for a long time. The battery life only time will tell, there are options for better batteries, and for the bike computer, which I recommend, the KD218 is easier to read as is in color and plain English choices. The model included with the bike is rather cryptic and difficult to interpret. I would recommend this bike, good price and quality components, but keep in mind the minuses.

I waited till I had put 200 miles on the bike before leaving a review. Amazing what you get for the money. I ordered this bike in Canada and it showed up in about a week. It feels and rides like a much more expensive bike. If you are Canadian, do not pay the outrageous prices local bike sellers are charging and get this bike. You will not be disappointed. I now use this bike daily to get to work and it makes my commute so much more fun!

The features on this 500 series ride 1 up e-bike make it a well rounded , value packed , great bike. I am a 70 year old male 6'2", 227 lbs. chose the step thru frame model for ease of mounting and dis-mounting. This bike handles my size and weight like I was a little kid. My wife has a popular brand bike shop e-bike of high quality and this 500 series bike has more features , equal quality, and better performance at half the cost. The bike arrived 3 days earlier than stated and was packaged very well, with not even a scratch on the bike. Assembly was easy just took my time and watched the video about assembly, greased all necessary areas and made sure all screws were properly torqued. I do have one con about the bike I ordered a replacement seat post with a shock spring, as apposed to the stock solid seat post. This bike is so much easier , and enjoyable to ride that I know I will use it so much more. If you are looking for a quality , feature packed, affordable bike look no further this is a nice e-bike.

So glad I did the research and landed on Ride1Up for my first ebike. The 500 series is a tremendous value for an entry level bike. It arrived promptly to my local bike shop. The tech who assembled it said he has never seen a bike packaged so well for shipment. Battery range exceeds all expectations. Zero issues. All fun. Highly recommend! P.S. Please add a tail light.

This bike has been a positive impact on my life! My life is BEB and AEB; Before Electric Bike and After Electric Bike. I used to be very active outdoors(I have lived in Alaska almost 40 years now). About 10 years ago I found I had a bone problem that has caused several fractures in my pelvis and lower vertebrate, FAI as well as other unfun problems. I tried to ignore it; but all I did was cause more damage that required several surgeries. I had to give up active outdoor activities. This meant no more climbing, skiing, snowmaching, or bike riding. The resistance caused by pedaling uphill and pushing through is bad for me, it causes cartilage damage and more pain(BEB). A couple years ago my doctor suggested trying an electric bike for exercise. I just needed to stay on hard surfaces and on the ground(No jumps or bumpy trails) They are expensive and can costs thousands of dollars. Additionally I thought they didn't have much power or long battery life(unless I hauled a car battery around). I did a lot of research and read hundreds of reviews and articles and I hemmed and hawed. I finally decided to get one. I went with Ride1UP! and spent $1600 with shipping. I can not be happier(AEB). I can set the assistance level so a hill "feels" flat or even downhill. There was definitely a learning curve in regards to balance; the bike is heavier than average and I have poor balance. I wake up most days and hope it is sunny so I can go for a ride. The BEST $1600 I have EVER spent. I got the bike on May 17th and I just "hit" 500 miles on the 500 yesterday (June 17th). I only wish I had bought it sooner :)

Got the 500 ST for future approachability. Still board over the seat at this point but I’m 68 so will hit the ST stage at some time. Love riding it every day in Las Vegas!

We just purchased our third Ride1Up 500 series. We LOVE our bikes, they’ve opened up a whole new kind of adventure for us. We ride dirt trails more than blacktop and they handle the dirt and hills like a beast. We’re so happy with our bikes.

Owning this bike was a game changer. I received my 500 series on 1/28/21 and have put over 800 miles. When my wife and I travel, we scope out scenic bike trails and make a whole day out of each ride. Customer service has been very helpful when I was received error messages. Thanks to Alex, it’s been resolved.

I absolutely love my 500 series bike. It's the perfect size for my 5'6" frame. My husband and I both have the 500 series, and we travel everywhere with them. Because of my lighter weight, I can pull away from him when we go up steep hills (me - PAS 2; him - PAS 3). I also love using the throttle when I'm at a dead stop. We researched a lot of eBikes and this is the best value for its quality.

I am enjoying riding the bike. I like the motors help going up the hill in my neighborhood. The bike is heavy though and if I’m on a hill and go down on the pedal assist or shift to a hard gear the change makes it a lot harder to move. I would like an online tutorial if there is not one already. I found the owners manual to be lacking some basic info like how to turn on lights and about pedal assist. Otherwise I’m happy with the quality and price and have had fun riding it.

This bike is amazing! 1. Bridges are easier! 2. Keeping the PAS on 2 or 3 and this things flys. 3. Very comfortable seat. 4. Stylish 5. The throttle helps with getting across the street quickly from a dead stop. 6. I get around 60 miles on PAS 2 or 3 on a single charge. 7. This thing rocks! 8. Best $1295 I’ve ever spent!

This was a great purchase, I love riding it with my wife, we have been all over San Diego on long scenic rides all over the county. The bikes are sturdy, comfortable, and the customer service on line is amazing. Best purchase for a hobby I have ever made, hands down!!!

I am quite happy with the bike. It’s mainly for my wife’s use but I take it out as well. It’s nice having the option of using power assist when I don’t feel like taking out my Trek and fatiguing my knees. My only issue is my concern of not having anyone local to service the bike. The few shops I have spoken to don’t seem to want to deal with it.

2000 km later some huge jumps and hauling more stuff than amazon and it runs like a dream although expect to maintain the bike and always keep the spokes and screws tight also any knockoff batterys will work as the system they use is not a proprietary software ( i ordered the 1000w version from last year) its got enough power to send me up to 38 km/h with just throttle don't be nervous ob bumps either i took a 4 foot drop and its fine i checked for welder tears and stress marks there where none i run it with continental tubless if you put money in to it its a great frame with solid starter parts to upgrade as you go

I’ve done a ton of research on ebikes for the better part of 2020, and came to the conclusion that Ride1Up is the best bang for your buck! On Dec 31, I pulled the trigger on my first ebike, this being a 500 model (black seat, grip combination). This was the best purchase I've made in awhile! I received the bike approximately two weeks later. Installation was pretty much a breeze following the YouTube tutorial. I took it to a local bike shop to dial in the front brake and derailleur, as this was out of my expertise. I’ve since ridden just over 100 miles, and was so stoked, I purchased another 500 (tan seat, grip model) a month later. The order was placed on a Monday, and I received it Wednesday!! Just a two day turnaround!!????  I mistakenly ordered two ebikes at the same time, probably a ‘click happy’ user error????? Kevin and the Ride1Up team were quick to resolve the error and refund my money plus the CC charge expediently. This is a solid product, with great value, and a solid team at Ride1Up!  I highly recommend this product to anyone and everyone! I can’t wait for the weather to be consistently better so as to expand my rides to the beach, mountains, and beyond!! Thank you Kevin and the Ride1Up team! Bravo! BTW, I got her up to 29.3 mph on flat ground! ????????  #GetOne!????????  Best wishes,  Sj

Excellent value. I ordered two series 500XR's on Feb 1, 2021, and they were delivered in perfect condition on Feb 8th. A seven-day turnaround is awesome, especially in these pandemic times. Using the Ride1UP assembly video, I was able to complete the first bike in about 2 hours. It would have been faster, but I initially installed the fork backwards and figured it out when attaching the front wheel. This is probably a common mistake. Anyway, the installation video was a valuable reference tool that makes setup easy. The second bike took about an hour to assemble. There was a minor brake pad rub in the rear wheel, so I used one of the Tektro YouTube videos to walk through the adjustment process. That took an additional 30 minutes. On both bikes, the derailleur's were spot-on and required no additional adjustment. The weight of the bike was ~ 57/48 lbs with/without the battery. My wife was not a big fan going into this purchase, but after our first 10-mile ride today, she is stoked. I couldn't help myself and went to level 5 with vigorous pedal assist and hit 29mph. I probably won't do this again, but just wanted to see what the bike would do. Features that we will modify include replacing the stems with an extended adjustable model to allow more of an upright stance. The seat was fine for me, but the wife wants one of those big gel seats. I was pleased to see bottle cage bolts were installed on the underside of the top cross bar. Overall, the finish of the bikes were excellent. I was originally looking to purchase the Specialized Turbo Como 4.0 listed at $3750 each. That would have been a mistake. The 500XR does everything the Como does, and has a stronger battery to boot.

The bike arrived very securely wrapped in a sturdy crate. I followed the video instructions carefully, and it was assembled in less than 3 hours. It could have been a lot faster, but I triple-checked each step. This is much more powerful than my previous e-bike (which was stolen). So I'm looking forward to many great trips on it. I added a basket for my daschund, who likes to ride with me everywhere.

Above and beyond expectations! We couldn’t be happier with this purchase. The range is easily 25 miles, and they ride very smoothly. Easy to shift, and having 5 levels of pedal assist makes the ride rigorous or easy depending on our desire. I have to say, using the 5th level is a blast! We are extremely pleased with the look and performance of these bikes.

This bike is great, good power and really comfortable to ride. The only complaint I have is that the battery display is almost always incorrect. Now that I know the range I can manage ok but I had some serious charge anxiety when I first started. Also pedaling this thing with out battery is not fun!!

I recieved my 500 mid August with the loose spokes as did others. REI fixed the spokes and Ride 1 up was quick to reimburse me. The bike is great fun, I now have 1000 miles with only smiles and good times. My wife recieved a 2nd bike- 500 ST in October and we have tried to ride the wheels off of them. We are campers and the bikes are now required equipment for our trips. We now look at bike trips as we can cover so much area with the bikes. I have helped friends pick and purchase bikes and we are all enjoying our new found e-bike lifestyle. Great bike, good fun and outdoor activities. Thanks Don D.

Excellent bike! Rides smooth, zero issues. Speed is great! According to the controller I’ve been able to get it close to 20mph. 25 downhill. Brakes are fantastic. I never had any issues with range. I don’t recall what it is rated for, but I’ve been on 20+ mile rides casually pedaling along the way and still had plenty of charge left afterwards. I have no regrets with this purchase. Thank you for a quality product. The only con, if any, is the weight. 50 lbs. or so can be a bit heavy to move around my apartment but that would be the only very minor down side.

This bike is a tank. It is my main commuter vehicle in the summer. I commute 12miles each way to work. It is honestly the highlight of my day zipping around on the 500 on my way to work/home! I have had zero problems so far with 1200miles.

For the money, this is an excellent electric bike. It has a nice smooth ride quality and it is fairly comfortable for longer distances. The 58 lb weight (with rack and fenders) is quite noticeable when trying to pick up the bike to move it... but for the price, I don't think you can argue that it's an excellent deal.

Bike was in good shape on arrival. My husband put it together- it took him 1 hour or so then he took it to REI for check up (2nd 500 for us) and again they checked it out (minor ajustments), rode it around the parking lot. Gave it back with no charge (2nd time no charge). We have cold weather now so only 150 miles (husband has 1000 miles on his) so far. I am 5-3 tall and was worried the bike would be to big for me. The good news is the ST bike is perfect fit. Rides great, with comfortable ride. Bottom line is we love the Ride 1 Up 500. We are campers and the bikes are essential equipment for us. Thank you for the bikes and we hope to see everyone out riding this spring. Molly Lingua

Fun bike to ride especially for seniors. I love the step-thru version which allows people that had hip (or knee) replacements to easily mount and dismount from the bike. Love the throttle which comes in handy when taking off from a stop when you have to move quickly (i.e. crossing a street). I took my bike when I first got it to an experienced bike mechanic who tuned up the bike perfectly (which he said it needed). I hope they will offer an add-on rear fender for the 500 series in the future. Love also that it is very sturdy and substantial in construction which works well for a 210 pound man to ride.

Bike Came well packaged , shipped promptly and the video was good in the assembly stage, However after 2 weeks of riding with about 60 miles on the bike Im hearing a rattling noise coming from rear hub on left side and cant figure it out. And when i try to access online support the page doesn’t load for me to inquire about the issue

Would like to review again in a couple of months after I really get a chance venture out and do some longer tours .

I had tried an Ebike on vacation in October, and thought it was fantastic! I started looking at all the Ebikes and it seem that Ride1Up had the best deal for me. My husband has been riding it as well, and we will probably buy him one in the next year. I bought the 500 and it has been a great bike! The only issue I have had is it is a little tall for me and I just need to work with it and enjoy!
