The bikes are not water-proof, they are water-resistant, rated IP-65. While we do not recommend leaving the bikes out in the rain or riding in the rain or other hazardous conditions due to personal safety, the bikes can handle water exposure.
We made gearing changes to our newest models and all models (except our Roadster v2) are capable of 28mph pedal assist speeds.

Overall a great e-bike, would have given 5 stars except for an issue in packaging and a missing rear reflector.
First, it arrived with tires deflated and twist ties holding everything in place… Front tire was *badly* crimped by two separate twist ties and I’m sure it will fail prematurely. I asked for them to send me a replacement tire and asked that they change their packing method but got no indication this information was passed up the chain and ended up getting $30 towards a replacement (covers a bit more than half the same tire price).
Second, while I really like the front LED light, I don’t understand how anyone can sell any bicycle without even a rear reflector let alone light since the bike already has switching and power to have the light. I attached my own LED rear light/reflector but have to turn on/off separately and replace batteries so a clumsy solution at best.
The bike arrived in largely good condition apart from the front tire crimping (but it did inflate). Easy enough to assemble, and really enjoyed the power/sturdiness though this is compared to several mid-$100 range regular mountain bikes and a 10 year old $300 e-Zip e-Bike so pretty much expected. Range is decent and tire size is a good compromise for street and mid-level trail running. Front suspension works well. Brakes are solid. Gearing has been fair-to-poor as it seems to get out of proper alignment frequently resulting in being inbetween some of the gears at low or high end much of the time, but with e-assist I can just skip those 2-3 gears well enough. Typical lag with pedal assist and lack of fine grained control by throttle put it in a tough spot for steep technical climbs where you might have to stop at some point mid climb but this is expected of most low-to-mid-level e-bikes that don’t have full pedal-torque sensors to control assist.
Another comment for most e-bikes is that perhaps a (mechanical or control panel configurable) throttle disable feature would be ideal for new riders. An older friend really wanted to try my ride1up 500 and I repeatedly told her NOT to touch the throttle and left it at assist level 2; she did fine for a while then forgot about the throttle while walking the bike back to the garage and twisted it dragging her and the bike to the ground, smashing the side of her face and causing pain in her teeth for months. If I had a do-over I would have put duck tape all over the throttle so she couldn’t engage it.

The bike has been great! I bought it as a Xmas present and my wife loves it. The power settings are a nice way to set it and forget it. My only complaint is that one of the bracket screws was stripped… if you could include a couple of extras in the package that would be helpful for others if they had a similar problem.
Cheer!

Love the bike. Had it in the dirt up at the local park and it does very well on the groomed trails. Everyone I show it to is impressed, especially when I tell them the price. Would do it again.
