CF Racer1 Replacement Battery

Internal (OEM Replacement) 36V 7.0ah Samsung Cells battery for the CF Racer1 ONLY.
Not compatible with the Roadster v2 or Roadster v3.
Do not buy this battery for a different brand bike. This is only for Ride1Up CF Racer1 ebikes.
This is for the internal battery only and does not include charger or tools. Changing the battery takes about 5-10 minutes. The chainring, controller and bottom bracket need to be removed for installation.

After eight months and almost 1600 miles of enjoyable rides my CFR1 battery stopped charging.
I contacted support and I was told that the battery needs to be replaced.
The bad news is that the battery is on back order and it may take a “few weeks” before it gets shipped. After having read some reviews on this subject, it seems that the battery is the “Achilles heel” (due to a blown fuse that apparently is not replaceable). What a huge spoiler on this otherwise superb bike. I’ve owned a couple of other e-bikes in recent years and never had any battery issues at all.
So I’m wondering why Ride1up hasn’t fixed this issue and/or at least have replacement batteries available when customers need them?
Last but not least, after a good one hour spent, I was able to remove the old battery, not w/out having to file some rough edges around the already tight battery compartment, as opposed to the 5-10 minutes as per manufacturer’s claim.
Meanwhile, I’m considering the option of converting the bike to a non-e-bike setup, which I think may make sense under the circumstances. At least I won’t miss riding on one of my favorite seasons of the year…
Every product or accessory I purchase from Ride1Up has been exceptional including the extra battery for the CFR1. Vary pleased customer again!!
I was among the first to purchase the CF Racer 1. Now the battery max capacity is 60% and the replacement battery is out of stock, which means it probably won’t be available in the future. I understand Ride1Up needs to be carefull with margins and keep stocks tight, but some clearer explanations would help users make a more informed decion. Something along the lines of “We are discontinuing the CF Racer1 Replacement battery as off [date]”
Hi Nicolas, we are definitely continuing to stock this battery for years. We ran out of inventory, but it will be available within the next 30 days. Our inventory planning system did not have enough of these batteries, but we are getting plenty more very soon. I apologize for the inconvenience.
