When I was in the market for an e-bike, Ride1Up became the obvious choice. Quality, price and positive online shopping experience lead me to a bike that not only fits my needs but exceeded my expectations. Shipping was a smooth process with the box arriving undamaged. A little assembly was needed but the online video made the process hassle free. I will add that the rear derailer needed some fine tune adjustments and the front head light is nothing to write home about but that’s the only knit picking I have with e bike. I am throughly pleased with my purchase and enjoy commuting to work on days that are rideable. That the true test of a bike; one that you actually saddling up on time and time again and ride. Thanks Ride1Up!

Great experience with Ride1Up! The Rift bike was shipped fast and arrived in great packaging. The assembly instructions were very clear and after about 30 minutes the bike was ready to ride. All the components were perfectly tuned right out of the box and no additional adjustments were needed for brakes or derailleurs. That’s impressive. The bike comes with really reliable and solid components for the price, especially the front suspension fork which is much more robust than other comparable e-bikes in the same price range. This was a gift for my son and he absolutely loves it!

Fantastic bike, couldn’t be happier already convinced 4 more people to order one. Batterie last so long i did 35 miles and still had 50% left. The passenger seat is one on my favorite features when i bring it to the camp ground. My only con is that the rift is heavy, i knew it was 80 pounds buying it. But didn’t realize how heavy a 80 pound bike really is.

Well, my review is going to be a two-tier review. First, I want to say that Ride1UP is a great company to deal with. They have what appears to be a huge network of people to quickly deal with questions or concerns, whether by phone or email. They provide answers to any questions. They ship the bikes and any accessories quickly with clear tracking information. My bike was in perfect condition when it arrived to me in the great state of Minnesota. It assembled easily and quickly. No problems at all! Now for the bad part - I decided on the Rift step-thru since I have had great luck with my Ride1UP 700 series commuter bike. Unfortunately, that is not the case here. The Rift step-thru has a wobble that actually scares me a bit. I worked with customer service and tried some things especially with the front wheel assembly. It got better, but when the speed gets over 15 mph it can be a hand full if the road has some bumps or ruts. Most bikes you can ride one handed, not this one. It saddens me that a bike that looks this good suffers from what I believe is a flaw in the step-thru design. This is just my personal opinion. At this point I'm going to take my loses and sell it for what I can get for it and move on to a more robust step-thru design. I will say this to anybody that may read my review - I met a person on the trail who had a Rift step-over bike and he mentioned that there wasn't any wobble. Makes sense from the some of the forums on ebike issues that I've read about. I wish I could keep this bike and ride it while a smile, but unfortunately that's not the case.

It’s a great bike. A little heavy and a cadence sensor but it’s fun, quick and powerful, handles well and a lot of fun. You can customize the cadence sensor motor power at each pedal assist level which is nice. The quad piston brakes are excellent for reliability and stopping confidence and the 4” tires help me when the bike path has gravel or dirt on it to not slide out and the integrated rack is fantastic for hawling stuff or people. This is a workhorse for me as I pull my 3 year old in a Schwinn bike trailer and it does great in doing so - plenty of power even going uphill and ride quality is very stable. Everything is a trade off in this world - for this price to get this quality of a fat tire bike is probably hard to beat. With more money you can get a torque sensor and maybe a little lighter bike but you give up the awesome overbuilt rear rack, quad piston brakes too. The seat is fine but I put a Cloud9 for $40 and a zoom suspension seat post for $30 on it and it rides like a full suspension bike now. Additionally the range and battery are awesome and the color display is great and I like how the rear light is a brake light too. I night ride on the paved trails and I find the front light to be more than adequate to see and be seen. Again for the sale price, great value and a very happy customer especially as a workhorse bike in and around town.

Few beefs, torque converter would have been nice; kick stand does need to be moved a bit; otherwise a great bike

How does the bike* fit? Please share your height/size and the frame type you ordered, if applicable. 6’1” large fits well, could have adjustments to the stem Hands get numb after a while; just leaning forward, but control is great

Bought this bike for my 13 year old to use to and from school. It’s about 2.5 miles but with some decent hills so a conventional bicycle wasn’t really an option in the Texas heat.
Assembly was pretty straight forward other than the additional hour it took me to learn to tune the derailleur. I took it for a test ride and had so much fun on it, I “accidentally” put about 30 miles on my son’s “new” bike.
He forgave me as soon as he took his first ride. He found the bike to be a bit heavy, so jumping off curbs is a bit clunky, but the bike is a 10/10. Good speed. Good charging capacity.
I added a side view mirror for safety and the large basket for his backpack and trumpet.
Only question I have now is why was it discontinued almost immediately after my purchase? Guessing I got one of the last ones.

I purchased the Rift step thru model. The motor, controller, battery and the rest of the components are fine but the frame flexes way too much. If I try to stand up and peddle, the bike starts to flex back and forth so much that I have to stop peddling.
