Are the bikes water-proof? minus plus

The bikes are not water-proof, they are water-resistant. While we do not recommend leaving the bikes out in the rain or riding in the rain or other hazardous conditions due to personal safety, the bikes can handle low pressure exposure to water. Do not submerge in water or expose to pressurized air or water. Storing your ebike in the elements could shorten the lifespan of the electric bike.

We had ridden Electra 3-speed beach cruisers for years. They look cool, are comfortable to cruise...until you suddenly find yourself older and need to climb a hill...We started looking around and then my brother-in-law told me about Ride1Up. An avid cyclist, he was impressed by the quality of the components and the price point. We ordered two LMT'D V2's with step through frames. It was tough decision for me, but given my crummy knees a great decision. We only have about 30 miles on them, but so far so good! Get ready for delivery as I recall the bikes showed up about two days after I ordered them. I did extend the handlebars on the gold bike forward a bit with a different stem as I'm 6-1 and felt like I was super vertical. We really like the comfort kit with a shock-absorbing seat post and seat. I also really like the big rear basket. I'm not super mechanical, but found the instructional videos, and a couple of conversations with Thomas extremely helpful. My biggest "watch out" is when assembling the headset. The bottom bearing fell and was on the floor. Make sure it is properly seated, and if you aren't comfortable with properly securing the headset with the right torque settings, ask a bike savvy friend to give you a hand. Happy with our decision!

The bike exceeds expectations, and is well built, does what it says it will do. The Only Fault is the cockpit is way too small. I am 5'9 and 210 lb and a retired mountain bike rider. I am 80 years old. It is too small for me whoever designed it must have been 5'3 and 110 lb. I fixed it by adding a seat post with a setback and a pair of monkey bars and elevated Head Post from my old mountain bike.

Nice bike. Good power. Love the throttle. Could use more battery life. Over all great bike and good value!

The only problems I've had is that the back wheel's inner tube has gotten punctured twice already, but of course that's probably the first thing you'd want to break! I also live in a college town with lots of broken glass on the roads, so that's to be expected with any bike. Other than that, the bike is absolutely phenomenal. It punches way out of its price range - it feels like a $2500+ bike for only a little over half the price. Don't be intimidated by the need to assemble it yourself, the most difficult parts like the derailleur and motor are all pre-assembled, and you'll want to be somewhat familiar with the assembly if you're getting a bike this expensive anyway. And if you're debating whether the torque sensor is worth it, it really is. You will be glad if you go with this bike. Also a tip for anyone looking at buying this bike - make sure you have a crescent wrench!!! You will need a 13mm wrench to remove the back wheel if you need to replace the tube, and you will need a wrench (unsure what size) to tighten the crank arm during assembly.

I spent hours reviewing different e-bikes before making the purchase. My Lmt’d v2 arrived within 3 days of ordering and showed up packed well, with no damage. I ordered a bike stand and watched the assembly and post assembly videos before the bike arrived, which made putting the bike together pretty easy with only minor adjustments needed. I know now how to center disc brakes, change a flat on the rear tire, and set and index my gears following links and videos from Ride1Up. Thanks for the info. The ride is excellent, 117 miles so far on shorter test rides, but I love the feel and handling of this bike. The reviews I watched on YouTube all held true for my experience so far. I’m very happy with this bike and I would/have recommend to family and friends.

The bike has been great. I have only had two small issues: the taillight has not worked, possibly arrived damaged, and the front fender arrived with a large visible scratch. Other than that, the bike has been wonderful and I have no complaints.

How does the bike* fit? Please share your height/size and the frame type you ordered, if applicable. Fits as advertised. I am 6'3" and expected it to feel a touch small, but it is definitely doable and not a problem.

How does the bike* fit? Please share your height/size and the frame type you ordered, if applicable. I'm grateful for the handlebar modification (longer stem) being 6-1 on a step through frame. My wife is 5-7 and the bike is a great fit. I read a lot of the reviews and think a step over frame would have been a slightly better fit for my height. With that said, I’m in my early 60’s and have bad knees. We wanted these bikes to last us for the next few years and I went for the sensible frame style.

I’m a serious biker with many bikes from high-end brand names. I bought this bike to be an upright fast commuter, doing something my other bikes can’t do. This bike is perfect. It doesn’t try to be a high-end bike with an added motor. Instead, it’s built with extra weight because with an ebike, weight doesn’t matter much. It has lower-end 8-speed components, which are simple, robust, and cheap to maintain. The hub drive takes the stress off the chain for longer life, and wheels and fenders are great fit for commuting or running errands. It’s a good mix of parts for an ebike. Also, it looks good with clean and simple lines unlike a lot of online ebikes.

I pedal with high effort and high assist to make my commute much faster and avoiding showering, saving much time. This bike allows me to do a 20 mile round-trip commute efficiently, taking me 1 hour round trip instead of 40 minutes via the truck or 1.5 hours by regular bike (plus extra showering time). It uses about 65-80% of the battery per trip depending on wind and speed.

The bike has tons of power. I appreciate being able to adjust the assist settings to better fit my needs. Battery life is great. I can run it with very high assist, averaging 21+ mph on a hilly route with a loaded pannier, and get well over 25 miles out of the battery. At light assist, cruising with a loaded rear rack at 15 mph on bike paths, I can get 80 miles per charge. I’m very happy with power and battery life.

    Some complaints and suggested improvements:
    – I do wish this was offered in multiple sizes to better fit riders. I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone over 6′
    – The rear light isn’t very good for getting attention (front is fine). I run a much better rear flashing light for better visibility.
    – Rear axle doesn’t have a quick release, which could be a big problem if I get a flat. I carry an 18mm open-end wrench so I can take the wheel off for roadside repairs.
    – Assembly requires more than average skill. Previous direct-to-consumer bikes I’ve ordered (non-motorized) required installing the front wheel, handlebars, and pedals. For this bike, you’ll also have to add the crank arms and fork, and you’ll need a torque wrench to do it properly. I had no problem as I’ve built up many bikes, but someone new to working on bikes may want to have a shop assemble this bike for them.

How does the bike* fit? Please share your height/size and the frame type you ordered, if applicable. This bike fits like a medium mountain bike, and I normally ride a large. It's a little cramped at 5'10" for reach, but still works okay for an upright position. I may switch to a Jones bar for a more stretched-out cockpit. I think the factory reach would fit someone best who is about 5'8".

Great bike. Needs better assembly instructions. I am pretty mechanically inclined (comfortable with assembling things) but seem to have missed a critical step in the process. The instructions included were very generic and only provided conceptual photos of the steps. The assembly video also glossed over the finer details of assembly. I was able to get it put together and thought I had it right but discovered a rattle at the steering head when going over bumps during the test ride. Otherwise, everything worked as expected or better and I know I will be very happy overall once the local bike shops corrects my mistake.

How does the bike* fit? Please share your height/size and the frame type you ordered, if applicable. Once configured for my height (5'10") I have plenty of room to stretch my legs on the down stroke and don't have to lean over too far to reach the handle bars.

Its an amazing bike! I really enjoy riding it.
I had the Turris before and I think it is so nice to have the better components and the torque sensing motor.
The only thing that was a “flaw” was that the Turris wheel distance seems to be a little wider and with the LMT’D V2 i felt not as comfortable as a 6’1″rider. I get adjust to it but the Wheel base of the turris was a better fit for me.
Would love to see the Turris with all the LMT’D V2 componenents but keep the turris brake light and make it a Turris Plus!
